There IS a reduction of weight in game when removing the weight of the stones in the CK. I tested it a few times, always with the same result.
It's right, there are MODs like this, but no one which actually does "the same" like mine. Maybe some people (like me) like to have the stones in inventory instead of drop them. And for those people (and for myself) I made that little Mod ^^
This is gonna sound a little dickish, but it's good advice. When you get an idea to make a mod like this, you should check to see if it's been done before. If you had then you would have seen this has been made before, and in the comments you'd see the mod maker's disappointment when people tell them that quest items like Barenziah's Stones don't really weigh anything. There's a weight listed, but it isn't actually applied.
