I was scrolling through the Nexus's Latest Files section and I couldn't help but notice what you wrote inside the small description box of your first mod, "Fateblade."
I realize this should probably be stated in your other mod's comments section instead. But, I've already posted here before and my response is more focused on your modding in general than any specific mod.
In the small description box of your mod, "fateblade" you wrote:
That is a disheartening statement to read. Not just because of the bad grammar and lack of proper capitalization: It makes it clear that your only modding to get attention. And that is the wrong reason. Worst of all, you're expecting to be praised and endorsed for making mods that practically anyone with even the most basic level of experience with the CK could do in a few minutes. I'm not saying this to try and put you down or insult you. In fact, if you found yourself getting angrier while reading this, then you are missing my point entirely. Believe it or not, I'm trying to help you. . .
Why don't you go take a look at some of the top rated Skyrim mods here on the Nexus. Even if you just looked at them a few minutes ago, go take a look at them again. Top rated of all time, last week, etc. . . Check a few out, but this time try to just imagine how many hours that mod author spent crafting their top rated mod.
Heck, why don't you post a few comments and ask them yourself. "How many hours have you put into your mod?" Whether it's a custom suit of Armor made from scratch (Like Jojjo's Lich King armor, for instance) or a heavily scripted multiple-follower mod (Like fLokii's UFO) or whatever.
Obviously, certain mods may take much more time to test and develop, and the relative skill level of the author is also a factor. Either way, I'm sure you'll find that some of the best stuff took dozens of hours to perfect.
I'm not saying you can't make a quality mod in an hour. . . If you really know what you're doing. But when the description starts with ". . . this is my very first mod. . . " this is usually not the case.
Oh, and telling folks to f-ing download it to see what changes you've made is not the proper way to entice new downloads. People like to know what they're getting. If it's not worth describing, it's probably not worth downloading.
If you want to get good, positive attention, especially with a weapon mod you're going to have to dedicate yourself to making something better: Put the time into learning how to use Blender, or if money is no object get 3ds Max instead. And then take time to learn how to use them properly. Don't just slap something together and expect rave reviews.
And the fact is, even if you spend weeks or months learning how to use Blender, Photoshop, Nifskope and then spend another few months making something awesome that just blows everyone away, you will still always have a (Insert insult here) putting you down and telling you that your mod is crap. Try to be the "Better" person and shrug it off. If you start a childish trolling match, someone will get banned and it might just be you.
Okay, now you just changed the picture to a sword that has already been done, so I still can't endorse. Make something original if you have it in you, otherwise, GTFO.
Regarding the house mod: by all means take your time. Try not to rush it. Think of modding like painting or sculpting, where a patient hand and an eye for detail make all the difference between a work of art or a piece of crap.
Perhaps, you should take a look at several of the most popular house mods on the Nexus for some inspiration, if you haven't already. See if you can bring something new to the table. . . Walk around their houses and try to think of something they didn't. Then try to make it happen in your mod. I wish you luck.
Edit: And don't forget to upload screenshots of it! Plenty of them, too. Make sure you have sufficient lighting Adjust your gamma if necessary: Nothing worse than screenshots that are too dark to see.
