About this mod

Don\'t be locked into a look because of stats! Adds more meshes with armor values. Including Light versions of Ebony, Heavy versions of Glass and Armored Robes. Also allows for Daedric artifacts to be swapped to an opposing armor class than the original.

Permissions and credits
Latest Version is 1.20 for Alternate Armors, 1.00 for Armor Swaps

This Mod will add light versions of all heavy armors, and heavy versions of all light armors, light armor robes, and the ability to swap armor type on Daedric Artifacts. The goal is to prevent players from being forced to use a certain type of armor based on stats. This is not "Realistic" and may be unbalanced, but, for those who want to look cool, this is the mod you need.

This mod does NOT overwrite the base items, so you should be fine to run it with Lost Art of the Blacksmith etc.

There are two ESPs included, one is just for the new craftable armors, light ebony, heavy glass etc.
The second is just for swapping out certain armors for different classes. Normal Thieves Guild to Heavy etc.
Use either or both, there are no conflicts.

Next on the list: Armored Circlets. Heavy Elven, Light Ancient Nordic.

Todo:
- Spell Breaker to Light/Different Meshes.
- Nightingale Heavy Swap.
- Light Orcish Armor.
- More Variants of Armors? IE: Ebony Quality armor that looks like Steel... Post comments on that...

This mod is still WIP, I'll update it as I go.

Current Version 1.20 of Alternate Armors includes:

Heavy Glass Armor/Shield - About on par with Ebony.

Light Daedric Armor/Shield - Comparable to Dragonscale.

Light Ebony Armor/Shield - Requires the Ebony smithing perk.

Light (Mundane) Ebony Mail - Without the Enchantment, just for looks.

Heavy Glass Armor/Shield - Requires the Glass Smithing Perk.

Light Blades Armor - Requires Steel Smithing.(I may change this to Advanced armor, comment on it.)

Light Steel Armor/Shield - Requires Steel Smithing. Includes both versions of the cuirass.

Armored Robes - Equivalent stats to a Leather Cuirass, includes Novice, Apprentice, Adept, Expert and Master Versions.

Armored Hoods - Equivalent stats to a Leather Helm, includes Novice/Apprentice/Adept Versions

New Leather Gloves and Black Leather Boots as Leather Armor.

Included in Current version of Armor_Swaps:

Swap Recipe for Clavicus's Mask - Requires Daedric Smithing and the original item.

Swap Recipe for the Savior's Hide - Requires Daedric Smithing and the original item.

Swap Recipe for Ebony Mail - Requires Daedric Smithing and the original item. (Will show up under "Ebony" section for clarity's sake however.)

Swap Recipe for Thieves Guild - Normal and Improved Versions. Heavy is equivalent to steel for normal version, orcish for improved.

ALL items have proper recipes and are fully upgradeable.
All set bonuses apply on all items. I promise.

You will need the Lost Art of the Blacksmith to be able to upgrade Clavicus's Original Mask. The Light Upgrades are included with this mod however.

Known Issues:

1. - The display name for the Ebony Mail tends to add extra characters related to the script effect on it if the name is less than 21 bits. Hence, the name has some added whitespace and make the little "Upgrade" arrow sit off to the side. Just a cosmetic flaw, but I can't really fix it until the CK comes out.

2.- If you equip the Light Ebony Mail, save the game, then disable the mod, you will have the sneak effect from it permanently. For best results, take the armor off before saving your game if you need to disable this mod.

3.- If you install an update to the mod and change it's load sequence, it will delete items from your inventory! Make sure you keep your load order the same.

Installation:

Copy the ESP/s file into your data directory. Enable via the Launcher.

Distribution:

You may include this in other mods as long as you contact me prior to distribution and credit me for the work I did.

PM me or post a comment if you find a bug.

Points go to Sheralynn for sort of suggesting this.
