I looked it up; the Ebony Blade is supposed to behave how it does, i.e. it's supposed to count as a two handed weapon except for it only benefits from One-Handed damage effects, enchantments, and potions; it benefits from One-Handed perks and not Two-Handed perks; and it swing as fast as most One-Handed weapons. It's purposely in the game's code and is how many people prefer it. It also is useful to those who've mastered One-Handed weapons for leveling Two-Handed weapons, as the sword uses One-Handed stuff while leveling up Two-Handed weapons. So do you think you could make a version of this wonderful mod that doesn't turn the Ebony Blade into a Greatsword, please?
This is exactly the way these weapons should be. Heres a pretty good idea for you since it seems you like to "Correct" the injustices of ...well..crappy effects. Maybe you could do something like this for the unique items such as: Nightingale armor and weapons, Keening, Dragonbane ect. Those items deserve some love too.
