Well I said to myself "I have all the Woman - Companion - Follower mod's (20 mod's 23 Female's) by you (Grimraven1) Why not get all of his mod's (21 follower mod's) Even tho, it's a Guy follower mod Now I have a guy to wear the Dark Soul Elite Armor cause it is a Male's only armor mod and Thanks and Endorse. PS Thanks for all the Great Follower Mod's. XD
I assume if i use this with ascendant shouts ( and use ck to reduce cooldown times even further ) that will mean i'll see a bit more spamming of this guys shouts?
There's a chance that UFO could be messing with is, but since I don't use that mod I can't say for sure and I'm not one to try and push blame to another modder's work if something isn't working right.
Bottom line: it could be a mod conflict but I'm honestly not sure. When I created the new version of the mod I did a full uninstall and re-install when I tested it and his power levels were way lower than the first version. He definitely wasn't one-shotting bears (he almost got smoked by a hagraven until he fus ro dah'd her off the friggin' mountain we were fighting on).
I would highly recommend trying a full un-install after disbanding him (remember to get your stuff from him) then load and save your games before re-installing so all of his game data will be fresh.
Thanks for the quick response Grimraven1, I did talk about the nerfed version. But the moment I changed from original to nerfed Murkain had been my companion the whole time. Maybe it's better to leave him first then install nerfed, and then finally take him with you again and have the fixed stats. I'm using UFO, maybe that's affecting his stats somehow, that's also how I could actually see his stats, with UFO. UFO also has a "train" function that boosts companion stats like the player, he lvls up. All of this could possibly affect his stats, I really dunno. I really like him though, an original idea.
The Greybeard AI package (which is what I used for his combat AI) uses shouts rather sparingly. And when he does use a shout; it will be a while before he does it again (the AI overcompensates for the cooldowns).
If you want him to be less powerful and not spam spells, use the nerfed version. That version removes his spells and leaves him with shouts and one handed melee. That version also starts him out at level 8 and lets him auto level with you up to level 80. The main version of him is high powered and starts at level 50 and goes up to level 80.
I for one think it's a cool character and he's a badass. Maybe too strong but so is any other magic companion. Marcurio murders stuff too and he's a vanilla companion. With that said, I wish there was more to him. I just walked up, said hey come with me, and he's like ok.
That's just a minor complaint. But he doesn't use any shouts for me. Just uses his magic. Should I download the other version? Or is there something I have to do to get him to use shouts?
@ njits: Which version of him are you referring to here?
The first release of the nerfed one?
The nerfed release removed all of his spells except his shouts and set him to auto level from level 8 to level 80.
If you're talking about the nerfed release having this problem, make sure that you completely uninstalled the other version before installing the nerfed version. If you used Nexus Mod Manager to install the nerfed version without uninstalling the other version; I have no doubt that screwed something up. I think I'll be removing the "install with mod manager" option from future releases just from so many people having problems with it.
However if you're having these problem with the nerfed version on a fresh install let me know and I'll take a look at it.
Just make sure to remove the normal version if you installed it before installing the nerfed version. With the nerfed version; his one handed shouldn't be anywhere near 100 until he's close to around level 60 or so.
In some cases of people installing a different version of the same mod; it is best to uninstall the first mod, then load up and save your games without it installed and then install the other version of it to clear out the save's useage of the data files. This has resolved issues for me many times when updating some mods to a newer version.
And you aren't being an ass...you're reporting problems and I'm hoping we can get things ironed out for you.
I don't want to be an ass here but this is still overpowered, why have one any skills at 100? Have you ever thought about people taking this companion at lvl 1? this guy can one shot bears, with his ebony mace! Balance things out man, this is just overkill, for me at least.
