I know when i made a mod in order to get certain actors to use certain beds I made the beds owned by that actor i think the same could work for factions (like the Stormcloak faction) but this alone isn't enough. you need to give each actor a defaultmastersleep package there many to choose from each ending in #x# like 20x8 meaning for that package the actor will go to sleep on the twentieth hour for 8 hours. I have yet to try the mod. I am just responding to the problem listed in the description page. This mod looks good though, i think i'll give it a try.
Okay, updated a few things, and most importantly figured out why it would crash to desktop if you didn't have Ranger Ridge loaded -- basically when I created the mod it listed Ranger Ridge as a parent file along with Skyrim, it wasn't that I used any non-Skyrim textures. Anyway, rookie move, but I fixed it so hopefully it's working better now.Let me know if it isn't.
Well, I cant see it of course but from the description is sounds like you need more weapon racks - not for the player per se but for the backdrop of a dozen or more soldiers camped there. They need quick and easy access that only a rack at floor level can provide.
Sounds like you picked a good spot there near Treva's.
I tried the mod on my laptop which has no other mods installed, and it did indeed crash prior to the loading screen. No idea why it's doing that, but I guess what it means is one of the mods I have installed on my desktop is affecting my mod actually working. I'll be looking into it more.
Update: I've figured out that something I have seems to come from the Ranger Ridge mod, so right now my house won't work without that mod installed. Trying to nail down what exactly the problem is.
Part of the reason for the sparse furnishings is because it's supposed to be a military outpost. The player's area is reasonably well-furnished as he/she is the one that is in charge, but the rest is not. Guardsmen have armor and weapons and would constantly be running into stuff and knocking things over if it was more tightly packed with furniture and other clutter.

One reason I placed it in the Rift because of exactly what you mentioned: everyone uses Whiterun/Riverwood/The Pale. I really like the environment in the Rift, too.
I'm not sure why it crashes like that. I ran it as the only mod active and it worked as well as could be hoped. You might try re-downloading it and re-installing. The first file I uploaded turned out to be the wrong (incomplete) file. I don't think anyone downloaded it before I could fix it, but I guess it's possible. The file should be 228 kb unpacked. All of the items are vanilla, I didn't create anything for this mod besides the NPCs who were based on existing NPCs.
I like big decks (and I cannot lie)..... I like lotsa barrels..... I like The Rift...... I usually play Nord/Stormcloak anyway......
Good enough to at least download and give a look-see - just looking for a layout that works.
Added: you my friend are the rare modder who hasn't saturated Whiterun hold with yet another house. I swear that area is gonna cave under all that additional stress one of these game years.....

No mods loaded other than this, vanilla 1.5.26.
