With just a list of player.additem xxxxxxxx codes, the reader/human/user has absolutely no clue what is being added and must do additional research to determine if a specific line of additems is what they really want to do.

Since they ARE text files, you can add actual descriptions to each line for the add items bits
player.additem 0000000F 1000 ; adds one thousand gold
player.additem 0000000A 50 ; adds 50 lockpicks
