    Sticky
Attention! None of the comments previous to this date are relevant anymore. Thanks to Keldis' suggestion, the mod has been completely changed into a simple tweak that will work for absolutely any vanilla, DLC or modded ranged weapons. No more compatibility patches or anything else are required to use this mod anymore.

Really wish this was also in SSE version of skyrim. Nothing like it that I can find.

Actually you can just add to your skyrim.ini settings bForceNPCsUseAmmo=1 or use wrye bash and it has an option for adding it your final patch.

Guys I have this at the bottom of my load order and it STILL doesn't work for me. Is it possible something from AFT is the culprit? That mod allows all of my followers who have a bow an UNLIMITED supply of iron arrows that I just can't find a fix for. H E L P is much appreciated.

got sick of all the infinite arrow abusing bandits in SE and tried adding the combat bit to the .ini
...so far after a couple fights with archer type enemies, it seems to be working...but only on my arrows that they returned after I shot them first, so essentially they still have infinite ammo, but at least they've stopped shooting my own higher tier arrows back at me ad infinum...
either that or they just failed to recover my arrows, I'll reply again a few more hours in if it turns out otherwise

I have readed a few comments and i have two questions:
    - Is there a way to multiply the number of ammo that the npcs carry? (they say that they have around ten).
    - What about the issues with the dwenmer robots? (one arrow).
    Thanks.

Hello. i am currently using this mod and for some reason, all the enemy NPC's only shoot one arrow before switching to a melee weapon to attack me. And i am sure they usually have more than one arrow in their inventory. Is there a compartibility issue with some mods like ABT or Archery Gameplay Overhaul?

i've been trying to fix the problem and it doesnt seem anything to work.

EDIT: "as long as they are using any vanilla bow type." i am using Real Bows which changes the vanilla bows. maybe thats the problem. im gonna try and see if i can fix it

EDIT no2: i disabled Real Bows and still the bandits still use one arrow. im going to disable any bow/arrow mod to see if i fix it.

EDIT no3: I disabled Arrows and Bolts Tweak(ABT), Archery Gameplay Overhaul, Auto Unequip Ammo and Real Bows and you guessed it, the mod finally worked!!!!. So there is a conflict with one or more of those mods. I tested it at the Whiterun main gate. The guards had 10 to 20 arrows in their inventory, so i attached them and after shooting all of their steel arrows the charged me with melee weapons. Im going to edit the post a final time after i find out which mod is responsible.

FINAL EDIT: The problematic mod was ABT! I reinstalled ABT and in the modules i didn't select any option from was Recover Arrows and Bolts and Loot Arrows. I think that these esp options had something to to with the arrows that spawn on NPC's, or maybe not. But i know that i fixed my problem. I hope that my post will help someone.

    Cheers!

Does this work with Skyrim Special Edition? Could this be re-uploaded to the Special Edition Nexus?

I am pretty sure SSE has this as an INI option. It should be in Skyrim.ini
      bForceNPCsUseAmmo=1
