OMG! What a beautiful sword! Where the fook has it been all my life! Twenty-two endorsements for what is obviously an unadulterated work of art? Let me be the first to apologize for the player community because we know not what we do. I've been enthralled with basket hilt swords since my early childhood. I'm sure it was from watching too many black and white Three Musketeer's movies or something. Anyway, it may be the NAME you gave the mod which has something to do with it being LOST so to speak. IF I was looking for a "sword" and searched for it........your mod would not come up. IF I was looking for a rapier like sword, your mod would not come up. IF I was looking for a basket hilt sword, using the normal search, your mod would NOT show up. I had to use the advanced search using those words in the description.....AND THEN....your mod shows up. It's ALL in the name my friend. Thank you so much for sharing what will soon be my primary weapon after I see if I need to BOOST your stats a bit for my totally un-historical play style! IF I can get it tempered as it is to over 260 damage at a 110 base smithing skill boosted by a 100 point potion and a 50 point ring, then I will leave it alone. IF not....hehe.....TESVEdit to the RESCUE! I play at Legendary with most creatures stats boosted by +250 just to offset my knowledge of the console. Believe it or not, I die sometimes.
One of the DDS files is in some kind of negative filter and the other is almost entirely transparent. How do the textures even work for this and how would one go about editing them with no clear source?
The textures are in standard DDX5 format and work very well in the game.
What I would do is use DXTBmp to convert from DDS to BMP and then edit the BMP. Use DXTBmp to convert back. Either extract the alpha map with DXTBmp and reapply after the edit process or create your own.
Retextured with higher resolution and just basically better technique. The steel is composed of about a half dozen layers to produce the effects seen in game. Hope you like it.
I had not planned on doing that but you could put a jewel into the pommel easily enough. Just open the texture, find the circular pommel texture (it will be obvious) and replace it with a jewel.
@Makengee - I actually appreciated your response as you took the time to point out the differences. My reply was a response to DepotBoy and was definitely not intended to be nasty or snarky. I just wanted to make sure early on that folks did not get the impression that I was lifting somebody else's work, especially a well respected contributor like Jaysus.
I hope you didn't get the wrong impression. Your Schiavona surely isn't a duplicate of Jaysus work. It stands on it's own and looks good in my opinion. The attention you showed to the hilt is excellent. Thanks for sharing it.

It's a reasonably powerful sword although you might want more. I think I made the stats the same as ebony. Needs only steel perk to create or improve.
