      2 handed. 1-handed crossbows exist, however/

in terms of base damage, archery in vanilla greatly outperforms 1-h melee, and even 2-h melee when not power attacking. not only do they have huge range, they benefit from all the same upgrades melee does, except power attacks. the real problem with archery is that arrow damage doesnt seem to scale, you cant upgrade or enchant arrows, and there's no power attack function. and even without it, the huge range should more than make up for the flaws. also, not everyone plays on high difficulty.

Is it compatible with perk overhauls? SPERG? Cause I like the perks I have already, but damage of arrows is very low. I am not playing as archer currently (tho I did it all the time before), but I still use bow sometimes and the skill level is around 25. But still, no matter how good you shoot the damage from arrow is same, right? Well, if you;re good then mayb eyou can hit between pieces of armor... And if you're bad than arrow spread should be high.
Anyways, I'd liek to try this out but I'm worried about compatibility.

If you think archery is already overpowered its because you are skulking around in the shadows high up on a ledge launching arrow sneak attacks at 6X damage over and over.

There is another side to archery, which is stading upright in the middle of the day; with a warrior who you have donated 5 archery perks to, shooting arrows at a bandit maurader who is fighting Faendal, with 10 of your arrows in his back. Its not hard to see were the author is comming from here.

Hiding from and kiting enemies has nothing to do with this argument. If someone makes a character who is supposed to be a manster archer, maxed skill all perks, upgraded bow, etc. then they should have no problem dropping a bandit marauder with 1 shot.

Because of the sneak perk tree and the theif archer archtype, archery is divided and simply has to be fixed with mods, if people feel the need to do so thats fine. Just please recognize the full issue here. What really needs to happen is for a mod to make some kind of modification to the sneak tree, taking some of the damage away from steath attacks, and adding in other non stealth combat perks. Making it just a quasi sneak tree....somthing like "Guerrilla Warfare" .

By the way archery is classified as a warrior stat in skyrim.

@Wuchtiiii Hey, whats your "archer" doing with maxed enchantment :p Just a little RP joke.

This guy knows what's up. There's absolutely nothing more unimmersive than playing a hybrid class that hasn't dumped 20 points and 5 grand soul gems into archery enchantments, and trying to use a bow. Especially when you're point blank, donating the arrows into the back of a human skull.

Archery is amazing when you have every single perk, godly crafted gear, and enchanted gear to boot.... Not to mention playing on a REAL difficulty.

With no perks and no enchantments (I.E. new game), it literally takes upwards of 20 arrows to kill a Restless Draugr. Oh boy, so fun! With this mod, I can dump 5 into him before he gets to me, and then finish him off with the 2H

naw, I just don't like the feel of it. It's not that Archery isn't good, it's that it's not satisfying chucking 10 arrows into a draugr's face at the beginning of the game. It's so unimmersive.

This mod isn't necessary mid/late game, and I imagine 99% of users remove it at that point... but in the beginning? There's nothing "fun" about launching 20 arrows into a restless Draugr. What kind of terrible adventurer seriously can't take down one of the weakest mobs in the game with 5 arrows? Apparently the adventurer you play in Skyrim.

Archery is garbage for hybrid builds, this mod is amazing for actually feeling like your bow DOES something. Grow up douche bag

In the end all you need is smithing and possibly enchanting. Paralysis enchantment + Bullseye on a Legendary Daedric Bow in Full Legendary Daedric with the Steed Stone = Overkill archer

i know it would make the game to easy but in general, if you got hit with 2 arrows you would be dead in real life,as well as being hit with an axe or sword in vital areas

I think the thing to keep in mind is this is an /Archery/ mod. What other skills you choose to use or items you spend your gold on is entirely up to you and entirely the path of your own game play. Enchanting + Smithing will make /any/ combat skill overpowered, just imagine Two-handing a Maul in fully upgraded heavy armor with 2 damage type effects on the weapon. Same can be said about Sneak attacks with dual wielding perks and a Dagger mod for the One-hand skill mod, as far as Archery by itself is concerned... it's greatly under powered.

Best Archery games I've played have been Thief, Dark Messiah, and Age of Conan with Rangers. All the same, this mod looks enjoyable.

I love this mod. This is the perfect balance of all archery mods. I've tried many mods beside this one and all others felt too overpowered. Even though I felt "vanilla" Skyrim lacked much with archery, this mod doesn't over compensate in any way. No longer am I a god, yet am I an under-powered nugget. A very balanced and artful solution to the games flaw. Thank you very much. A much appreciated endorsement. Many Kudos to this author!

If you think Archery is underpowered you are quite retarded, playing it right archery got me the highest damage, and no, I wasn't doing a sneak build, I mean charging right into the goddamn battle with your bow and shooting them straight in the face. You need to have Enchanting and Smithing, basically create a set of armor that will boost up your bow damage (Max with potions is 45% per piece, 4 pieces = 180%) and a set of armor that will boost up your Smithing. Now go create a Daedric Bow, equip your Smithing potion, drink a blacksmiths elixir and create that damn bow. Enchant it with paralyze or simply elemental damage or anything that suits your needs and charge into battle.

This is for Heavy Armored Archers btw, Light Armor will take too much damage in battle.
