To the users who don't agree with the chosen ingredients. You can load this mod into Tes5Edit and quite easily change the recipe, I've gone with firewood and linen.
linen wrap 00034CD6 vanilla torch 0001D4EC in case anyone wants to change items didn't try to swap the torch ID might break the mod but I share it anyway just in case removed charcoal as it's pretty rare in my game and I set torch life to 60 seconds...my goal is to have a use for every item in the game but not by using rare ressources, charcoal is used in several weapon armor alchemy mods fyi linen too but draugr dungeons have enough of it
Excuse me, how can I adapt this mod to my own mod with several torches of different colors? Whatever I do I keep recieving multiple torches (5 or 3) during craft. I am not good at scripts at all.

Between vanilla and mods, fire salts and dwemer oil are in high-enough demand as it is. Making a basic torch require exotic ingredients is far from logical, because what city guard is going to brave a dwemer ruin for some oil? There's not an adventurer among them. There used to be, but well... You know.
And incendiary demon scrapings as an ingredient is just silly for something that is, by your own admission, "just a stick with linen wrapped around it".

(plus charcoal is otherwise useless, it'd be good to have a reason for carrying any)

.......still no source to light it though and with the oil it burns longer, so...........yeah and with the guards obtaining torches question they can just go to the alchemist and buy the required ingr's. and with that linen wrap just venture into a nordic dungeon and gather some from the floor.
Please do not make these harder to craft than you have them now. It is perfect as is. I feel like if everyone that comments wants to make it more complicated, you will eventually agree. Not everyone wants that. The people that are happy with your mod rarely comment.
Great mod. I never understood why the Dragonborn could figure out how to mold dragon bone into weapons and armor, but not craft a torch. I would think, though, that it would be more immersive if you required a pelt, leather straps, or something flammable along with the coal in the ingredients. The coal holds the heat, but isn't going to maintain a bright enough flame for the purpose of a torch.
