Readme File for Pinewatch Smithy Mod (Skyrim) v1.0 (dated 20120306)

Change Log:
v1 3/6/12 Initial release

Installation:
To install, simply copy the file "pinewatchsmithy.esp" into the directory which contains "skyrim.esm". On a typical (Steam) install on Windows7, this woulc be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\Data directory.

Conflicts and Requirements: The mod relies only on the basic skyrim.esm and the providedPinewatchSmithy.esp. It does not require the (skyrim) Update.esm or Hi-Res Texture Packs, but does not conflict with them either.

Congratulations! This is my first mod released upon an unsuspecting world. The world, for its part, is allowed to be unimpressed.

Pinewatch Smithy in Version 1.0 consists of a Farm/Smith building with a smelter, smith crafting on the side porch, an illegal basement shrine to Talos, a horse shelter, and a roadside 7-11 stand.

If you aren't familiar with them, a "7-11 store" would be a small drink, snacks and food items store next to a well-traveled road for fast refreshment of travelers. At present, I consider the roadside stand as my "creative contribution" to the world of Skyrim since such businesses are relatively common sights in my experience, but never seen until now in the un-modded world of Skyrim. In rural areas around the world, I've seen small stands similar to this selling veggies, fruit, and drinks... so a stand by the roadside seems very reasonable in Skyrim.

I believe that mods shouldn't give too much loot "just for downloading" them, so I minimized the clutter and left very few valuables laying around. The inside chests are non-spawning, so it could be used as a player home, but there are probably fancier ones out there! There are two chests on the main floor, some barrels and chests downstairs, and one chest in the upstairs sleeping area.

In version 1.0, there are only the structures specified, but later versions may add an NPC to the roadside stand to buy/sell food and dispense wisdom plus another NPC Smith to buy/sell arms/armor/resources. Creating these will require me to learn much more and will stretch my modding skills! The basement may evolve into a Dark Brotherhood hideout cave. Or not. Future versions are planned, but I won't venture to say how soon.

Enjoy,

Old Grizz
