@Remnant Thank you so much for the info! Of all the arrow smithing mods, this was the one I liked the most and was sad that I was going to have to uninstal it. Now I don't have to!

Edit: Looks like that change to Smithing xp was needed for the perks this mod adds. As soon as I changed it back to 1, the perk vanished from the Smithing tree.

eh, I didn't get that, fixed fine for me, and I even made a few more changes later. (like fixing it to work with the Dawnguard added Recipes, and setting up crossbow bolt recipes with it)
Honestly have no idea why it would do that for you though, possible you might be editing the wrong bit?

Cool mod, thanks to you, I don;t need to stand around like an idiot in Solitude "steal" arrows from the guards practicing their archery lol

One thing is, I got to level 100 archery from 30 in a heartbeat lol SWEET!

Now, to go find me some ebony ingots lol

I had a look at this in the CK, seems the author changed the skill use multiplier from 1.0000 to 160.0000 (I think, can't remember exactly what he set it too)

If you can't wait for him to fix it, fixing it your self is very easy. Grab the CK, then load up his mod (might be an idea to check the box next to the "update.esm" as well)
click on "Characters", which is listed at the top bar, then click Actor values (it should be the first one on the list)
scroll through the list till you find Smithing, then under "Skill use Mult", change the value to 1.0000

I also went through all the other skills just in case, since some one here had mentioned it effecting enchanting, but they seem to be untouched.

This mod could be great but i intall it and smithing lvls way to fast..would be great but when you make one thing and gain 4 lvls makes it LAME...wish the was a mod that let you make arrows in game not made up arrows...thought this was gonna be it...i even didnt mind the perk change but the xp you get from crafting changes the balence to much for me..no endorsment from me

I love being able to create batches of arrows with this mod. Of the few stand-alones I found on here, this one seems the most balanced in terms of fun, challenge and realistic.

I won't endorse this file yet though, because the leveling of the smithing skill is a VERY serious problem. My current game was unfairly affected by this as I'm trying to play the game as realistic as possible, without using any cheats or overpowered items. It greatly unbalances it. (I suppose it can be fixed with the console, but doing so will probably mess things up, so I left it at that...)

If you're interested in updating this mod with a fix, I would not only appreciate it but also endorse and recommend it to everyone I know.

As others have commented there is a problem with the leveling.
I started a brand new character, went to Riverwood and did the crafting tutorial (Alvor asks you to create a dagger and hide helm). When I leveled up (lvl 2) I discovered that my Smithing had magically hit 62 and I had gained 10 levels!

EDIT: I didn't make any arrows, this was after crafting and upgrading an iron dagger and a hide helm and upgrading the light imperial armor I picked up in the starting dungeon.

I made a 1000 gold item and got 50 levels in smithing, up to 90. Then I made two 50 gold items and got up to 100! So when they say they're leveling too fast, it's not twice the speed. It's about 1000 times faster.

I'd definitely use this mod for my archer once this is fixed.

You should have arrow smith at the same level as Archane since you made the arrow smith perk required before getting archane.
