The mod didn't work properly for me. I do have a lot of other mods, but I don't think I have anything affecting food. This mod allowed me to cook several new recipes with listed effects, but the food doesn't work. I started the game with some lost max mana, health, and stamina, I never figured out if they were increasing over time, but I could eat tons of food and it never fixed them. I tried eating like six 50% restore hunger items and my max health just stayed at 90/100. Sometimes an attribute would go up or down slightly, but never in the expected direction.

I'm running into a problem with this mod...

I can eat two apple pies for 50% hunger and a sweet roll (30%) and my health bar still won't recover all the way.

I can sleep for 20 hours straight (each hour is 10%, right?) and my stamina still won't fill up completely!

:s I really enjoy this mod and how intrusive and immersive (and SIMPLE) it makes the whole food, thirst, sleep thing, but... if I can't effectively tell when I'm hungry or exhausted, then a lot of the point is lost. Anyone else had this problem and knows how to fix it?

I'm starting to think it might be broken, it hasn't been updated in a year now.

Cool mod. Take out the thing where it's different for vampires and you have a winner.

This mod would really benefit from the ability to define how quickly you get hungry, how much an item sates you etc. Maybe compatibility with SkyUI.

I just started a save with this mod, picked up practically all the food and drink I've found so far, and I'm already running low on supplies. And of course, all the food is a strain on my inventory.

I am back and I have a new version of this mod in the works. It addresses a lot of issues with the mods design and fixes a major bug by removing the use of global variables.

I have cut the speed that you grow thirsty/hungry/sleepy in half but added a new mechanic where those stats will increase while your auto regen is active.

I have also renamed thirst into spirit. This makes more sense in terms that your thirst now comes from special drinks rather than just water. Skyrim is a world filled with water so now there is no more need to feel like you can just drink water to regain your magicka regen.

Today I will increase the potency of higher quality foods and drinks and skooma.

New version very soon including a video of me working on and playing the mod!

I can tell that a lot of thought and work went into this mod and for that you are to be commended. However I have worked with this mod for several hours and cannot continue to use it.

The character I was testing the mod with is a simple role-playing hunter. No quests, no dungeons, just simple hunting and camping.

There was almost no way my hunter could stay healthy using this mod. Just as soon as he would eat, drink and sleep to max out all bars than all of them started to plunge, not slowly as they would do as he went through his day, but rapidly and before he could even get out the door to go hunting he was hungry and thirsty again.

Water was a major drawback. With lakes and streams all around him he had to waste time looking for bottled water—not good. A simple canteen that could be refiled (say with ten drinks) would solve this problem

Then there is the amount of hunger that foods satisfy. To eat a two pound wheel of cheese and only satisfy 3% of one's appetite seems a bit extreme. I know that cooked meals are more “filling” but even two or three servings of any dish I could find would fail to fill. For a simple week long hunting trip to the north coast my hunter had to pack along enough food for a small army, even “living off the land” and hunting his own food.

And finally there is the matter of stamina. My hunter must hold his breath quite a lot to make “steady hand” shots which uses up stamina, so I was stuck with having to swig down a stamina potion after every shot.

Please don't think I am entirely negative. There is huge potential in this mod, and of all the food mods I have tried (and I have tried most of them) this is so far the best. However the mod should augment the game, not become the central focus of the game. Having to be constantly monitoring ones health and either eating or drinking every few minutes totally blows “immersion.”

I hope that these problems can be solved and I will watch for updates. As I said this is so far the best food mod I have found—but maybe the problems of food and sleep are just too big to be addressed in a game of this sort.

    Thank you for your work.

Would you say that implementing Mincraft-style hunger would be a good idea? Minecraft has a hunger bar that slowly depletes and the rate at which it depletes depends on what actions you perform. Swimming, breaking blocks, jumping, attacking and so on cause the bar to deplete at different rates. When the hunger bar is empty, your character starts leaking health points until you have only 1 heart left or until you eat something. Only a full hunger bar will make the health slowly restore to full health again (the bar has invisible overhead so it doesn't start depleting right away and no food goes wasted if the bar is full). Thirst could affect all regen rates and lack of sleep could affect all offense and all defense stats. I think the hunger mechanic in Minecraft would lend itself very well to Skyrim.

Dragon's Dogma has a cool thing too where only a certain amount of health can be restored using magic. Potions, food or sleep have to be used to restore full health. This mechanic makes the game a lot harder. It would lend itself well to Skyrim too.

I love the idea.. but my health is constantly going down at a horribly fast rate, despite anything I do. The moment my character wakes up, her health is depleting rapidly and it makes it impossible to go into a fight. Been keeping food & water on me, but it doesn't seem to be enough. So... I would keep and endorse this mod; but it's way too difficult to deal with. Seeing my character starve in less than 20 minutes(game time) after a meal is a bit too intense.

After quite a bit of play time I really only have one gripe with this, and that's that the shops don't sell enough water. You can cook your own food, but you can't fill a canteen or anything with water, so it really could use an increase in the water bottles or effective drinks that shop keepers sell, or an alternate method of obtaining water (melting snow, rivers, etc.)

I absolutely *love* this mod. It's completely seemless with playing the game. Gives reason for food. Makes money harder to hoard, due to needing to actually feed (wouldn't we all save a butt-load of money if we didn't eat?) It works perfectly with Realism/Survival Mods, I have multiple installed. Combat and Dungeon-Diving become difficult now (I play on Expert), because you don't regenerate all the time. Which leads to the double edge part of this mod, which I hope it'll be solved someday.

I have 2 MINOR problems with this mod, things I just hope will be 'fixed' or changed.
1.) I believe the [+1 Primary-FoodorWater (P) : -1 Secondary-FoodorWater (S): -1 (E)xhaustion]Ratio is nesessarily 'correct'. I don't get hungry as I drink (which seems to be the effect to my understanding). And I don't get thirsty so quickly as I eat, nor do I become 'exhausted' so quickly. I would believe something more along [+(2p):-(.5s ).1e)]. In less garbage: You get more benifit from the item than you lose, while if you use too much of them you still suffer. I just think it's a bit too drastic.

2.) I think the Consumption values need to be increased on the food. Take into the account that the Dovahkiin never really gets time to sit down for large meals, thus must have a small stomach. So why wouldn't 1 or 2 Hoaker Loafs fill his/her up? I'm having to eat like 3 to 4 Cooked Meats (stuff that gives +20%) just to stave off starvation (losing but not gaining) and drinking 2-3 bottles of ale and water. I don't know about you, but I think the Dovakiin needs to go to Coney Island, cause they can wolf down a LOT of food before they are no longer hungry/thirsty.

Like I said, I overlook these MINOR grievances. This mod is absolutely beautiful in it's game play and feel to being as something that was 'supposed to be' in the game. I debated for a long time over some of the other Eating/Drinking mods. THIS one of them all, to me, has the best concept out there. I love it and can't get over it. I highly recommend, I'm only sad I can't endorse twice!
