FYI, boosting the dragonscale armor rating is unneccissary, unless someone for whatever reason put points into both light and heavy armor. Dragonscale armor is already better than Glass, and there's no other light armor (yet) developed by BethSoft that has a higher armor rating for light armor, discounting the Daedric artifacts. However, I am in full support of increasing Dragonbone's Armor Rating.
And Digital, the requirements for making Daedric armor are ebony ingots and one daedric heart per peice. A circuit or two of Skyrim's holds will probably give you enough hearts to make a full suit plus weapons. Remember, how the player percieves the world isn't how the game world is; the only reason dragonbone and dragonscales are less rare than daedric hearts and ebony ingots are because the player is the ONLY one who can reliably fight and kill a dragon. Proof of this is that dragon bones and dragon scales do NOT appear in merchant inventories UNLESS you sell them to a merchant. Daedric hearts have a good chance of appearing in an apocithary's inventory once you reach the appropriate level.
The reason the dragon bone armors are weaker than daedric is because the materials for daedric armor are rarer while you can find a surplus of dragon scales and bones. Short and simple, the dragon bone armor is the lazy/impatient adventurer's ultimate armor. Doesn't really matter since both of them exceed the armor cap and there isn't much of a difference in their final ratings.
It's more of a matter of taste in the end and walking around wearing bones isn't my idea of being a fierce warrior. The daedric set's hidden intimidation bonus is nice too.
Well this mod is not useless if someone (me) doesn't use overpowered improving.
Furthermore according to UESP
"There are several in-game effects and perks that ignore or bypass a given percentage of armor, so there is some value in having an armor rating that exceeds this cap."
@romannagy but if you take steel which compared to carbon-fibre if pathetic but weighs a ton and this is my theory on this but everyone has there own opinion
I've always thought that dragon armor should weight much less, even the heavy armor. Think about birds... their bones, I believe, have evolved to have a lighter density compared to mammals so that they are light enough to fly. For a massive dragon to take flight, I would think that their skeletal structure would have evolved to be both light and strong. Perhaps that is what could set dragon armor on par with daedric, keep the armor rating the same, or bump it very slightly, but put the weight down to something closer to glass.
if I'm not mistaken, the reason why these sets of armor were weaker than Daedric, is because they were also lighter. Having them weaker balanced them out. But if people like this, whatever. I can't tell people what not to like, lol. I personally don't think the dragonscale armor should be better than Daedric, though. Maybe bump it down a few points, so it's still remarkably better than any other light armor, but not as strong as Daedric (it'll balance it much more)
