I don't know the answer to your question (annoying I know), but in real life the moon can make the terrain extremely bright once your eyes get used to it.

true storms is a heavy overhaul. The conflict should only be about the night values under weather tab in Tes5edit.
Drag the night values from this mod to whatever weather changing mod you have to keep the dark night changes.

I wish this made sense to me. I really need to make this compatible with True Storms!

Great mod- just what I was looking for!  A little 2 minute job in TESEDIT and it even works with Climates of Tamriel and True Storms =]  Thanks for sharing!

Can you tell me how you made this patch? This mod isn't working for me with True Storms and Obsidian Weathers. But when it does work, it makes it SO MUCH BETTER!

One of the first mods I ever downloaded back in 2014 that set me on the path of figuring out how weathers worked. Realized I never endorsed it and came back almost 6 years later :)

hello fadingsignal, will True Storms work with this? Or will it require a patch?

It doesn't seem to work with it. I'm using Obsidian Weathers and True Storms and unfortunately this mod is buggy with them. It turns off an on at random.

Only wish to compliment you on a brilliant mod.  For quite some time, I was puzzled as to why the "nights" and the dungeons had seemed just so lack lustre and bland.  Then, I installed your two mods.  Wow!  What a dramatic difference.  Skyrim suddenly seemed to come alive in ways I didn't think possible.  Dungeons which had become boring and predictable were now suddenly dramatic, even frightening and dangerous, but certainly very new and fascinating.  Such a simple idea, yet it provides an "upgrade" to the game that should have been in the original code.  At the very least, Bugthesda should have provided a way for the player to select the lighting intensity for the game, to give the same effect as your mods.

So far, I've installed your Darker Nights and Darker Dungeons mods.  I'm debating on whether or not to use Correct Lighting, as I've already so many active mods in my game, I hesitate to add any more.  Yet, Correct Lighting is apparently a very small, unobtrusive mod, so shouldn't really affect the game too much.  I probably will download it as well, as your work is so excellent and well done.

Of course, now, additional personal lighting is needed, which adds to the immersion in phenomenal new ways.  I don't use torches.  Instead, I use the Quick Light mod, another brilliant invention, which can be toggled on/off easily.  This adds even more drama to your lighting mods.  So, again, thank you for providing us such a simple yet effective means to bring alive so many areas of Skyrim that Bugthesda had rendered so painfully dull, unimmersive, illogical and boring.  Brilliant mod, sir.  And enthusiastically endorsed!

I agree completely! This is the best mod and I'm so glad your post mentioned his darker interiors. I was using Simply Darker Interiors and it messed up Ragnaval (whatever the temple is called that you kill Otar the Mad in it). It would grey them out unless you put it right at the end. It wasn't very good either. His is amazing. Thank you! I wouldn't have known about it but for your post!

Why are there not more endorsements? It's the only Darker Nights mod that actually works for me. It's incredibly immersive too. I tried Darker Nights for Oblivion and it made Markarth doors red because of the contrast or color filter, or whatever. You couldn't really make out anything. I tried other darker night mods and they would black out the stars, make lights super-bright, or were otherwise not very good. This mod is amazing because you can just barely see to navigate. You can make out the trees and foliage when you get up on it. It looks the most realistic and is still functional.

I'm really sorry you didn't get the kind of acknowledgement this mod deserves. After all these years, you probably aren't even reading comments, but if you are, thank you!

I must be doing something wrong, I've tried all the brightnesses, I've adjusted my gamma, I've even jacked my brightness all the way up AND I've tried with and without a brighter torches mod, but the ground in most places is literally black, can't see a thing. Then there are random rocks or hills that glow like they have a spotlight on them. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground where it's darker than vanilla but not pitch black. Is this just the mod or am I screwing something up?

    hello Daos85
This actually quite nice, the main file is a little dark for me , so I'm using br20 optional,  while it does make things a little better and nicer,  its still quite dark,  but using better vampire's vampire vision its really nice with the bv night vision , and then when you you use bv vamp vision for seeing life thru things , its really night, gives of a kinda light rusty reddy brown hue , in my game I don't use enbs either, but this is nice with bv vision....
    Endorsed Kudo'd Tracking !

This mod is great for anybody still playing LE and not already using ENB lighting.
All this mod does is turn down the night weather values which does amazing things with natural lights like torches
    and lanterns.
If you are having problems about things being 'too dark'
It might be because your torches are not bright enough.
There's a mod for brighter skyrim torches,
but I always recommend using spells like candle light.
It looks way better than torches.
