Just wondering. Since this mod makes the root harvest-able.... does that make it grow able in the hearthfire gardens as well?

Edit: I went ahead and tried it. Jarrin root wont appear in the list as one of the plant-able items in the garden.

I personally like the idea of it being acquired in only one place, otherwise it would be kind of op… Just my opinion, though.

Perhaps someone should make this grow in the eldergleam sanctuary?

Looks to be a very rare Artic strain variation. I wonder if it grows back?

I thinking of you should make a mod, an Alik'r vendor, travelling Skyrim like M'aiq the Liar, and he (she) sells the jarrin root, stros m'kai rum, cyrodilic brandy, colovian brandy, double distilled skooma, argonian ale, daedra hearts, moon sugar, black soul gem, mage hood, flawless diamonds... etc. so items that you can obtain in normal game only once or they are very rare.

Well, it makes sense what coenve just posted, so maybe putting it on a little island or some hard-to-reach place near the greener areas of the game could be good. Maybe even that gate that would lead to hammerfell?

Anyway, it's interesting that it is in a hard-to-get place, but I'd need to advance the main quest to reach there, right?

    Here you are:
Jarrin Root is a rare plant unique to the island of Stros M'Kai. It is extremely toxic, and eating it will result in instant death. For this reason, it is highly prized for use as a poison.
    Source: UESP.

Stros M'Kai is an important tropical island off the southern coast of Hammerfell near the Cape of the Blue Divide.
    Source: UESP.

This means you should put it in the warmest place possible

It is true Jarrin root wouldnt grow up there but it is a good placement for balance reasons the only other place i could think of is underground where the
...... almost did a spoiler dont read if you havent done the main quest.....

crimson nariaroot guys body is (mabe in a pot, but i think you will get a lot of ppl saying that its to hard to get down there. I think it would be just right. hay maybe if you have time you can look at putting it some where like that and put it up as an optional, but like i said where you put it is good also.

going to down load and endorse when i can. thanks

I'm new to the Elder Scroll series only having started with Skyrim so I wouldn't know anything about previous games. Don't see anything mentioned in Skyrim wikis about where the jarrin root grows either. The actual damage varies, based on your alchemy skill. I wanted to add this very powerful item to the game in such a way that still maintained it's rarity. Also I like the idea of only a select few having the ability to obtain such a powerful ingredient. Having it sold by a vendor does not appeal to me. Maybe someone else will make that mod.

Jarrin Root grows in desert / tropical regions. Like the Stros M'kai from the early ES game: 'Redguard'.

Lore-wise. It has no place growing, or being harvest-able in Skyrim's tundra, glacial environments. If you wanted this mod to be lore friendly, make a purchasable from a shady vendor who imports such ingredients.

I like the idea of the mod but I think 6000 damage is quite a bit overkill. Considering you reach the Throat of the World through natural story progression somewhere around 200 damage seems more reasonable. (x3 of deadly poison)
