Well, yes. But the mod itself is not up to date with even the official update ESM, let alone the unofficial patches. Please migrate over to Even Better Quest Objectives instead.
I actually returned to your mod for my Requiem playthrough (first time through Steam for my initial playthrough, it worked great I think!), as it seems Even Better Quest Objectives requires the Hearthfires DLC which I lack and have no interest in. Would you happen to have any idea if the mod runs even without Hearthfires? No one seems to have asked it in any relevant forums, or my googling skills are severely lacking. EDIT: Nexus seems to have placed a random smiley on my message, not sure why.
EDIT 2: I just realised to check the posts rather than the inactive forums on Even Better Quest Objectives, and the mod author states in the FAQ that all of the mods are indeed needed. Just a heads up for future modders thinking about the same thing.
My advice: Spend the $5 (or equivalent) on Hearthfire. Even if you don't care much for the DLC itself, consider it a token of support for the mod community. It will open up plenty of mods that depend on it, including Even Better Quest Objectives.
Using this over Even better Quest Objectives due to not wanting a cheap DLC (that is often on sale) is not a great idea. You'll probably run into problems if you have installed skyrim updates or unofficial patches, as this mod can not only revert some of the changes made by those patches, but can cause extreme performance problems (due to script lag..? I guess.) My PC is just shy of being top-of-the-line and this is the only mod that has induced such a performance hit, so far.
I'd be interested to know what in it is happening to cause my performance problems that no amount of graphical and gameplay overhauls come close to creating, but those word's are probably wasted on me. (not learned in scripting/modding...)
Well, just something to watch out for, if you're having bad performance problems, try disabling this baby or upgrading to Even Better Quest Objectives.
It's probably because this mod is horribly out of date, last updated even before Patch 1.8 of Skyrim. Let alone 1.9. No real reason not to use Even Better Quest Objectives, beyond not having all the DLC. But then again, the modding community has long since migrated to the assumption that all the DLC will be available.
I wanted to let everyone know that this mod resurrects the "Forever Mourning" bug (where you can't advance in the companion's questline from Blood's Honor to Purity of Revenge). I recommend uninstalling this mod (if you don't have all the DLC) or using "Even Better Quest Objectives" (if you do have all the DLC).
You likely meant to post this on the Even Better Quest Objectives mod page, which actually does alter Dawnguard quests. And as for the issue, I've posted a FAQ entry about it:

Yes. You completely can. The only real issue is that some already-started radiant quests can show "[...]" in the objective description instead of the location. But that's a quite minor issue. And when that does happen, you can temporary enable quest markers for the duration of the quest.
But I took a look to Skyrim Compass Tuner images and now I remember. So actually, you can hide or display nearby visited locations, nearby unknown locations and of course quest markers on the compass (first image). Then you can hide or display quest markers on main map and entrances/exits markers on local map (third image). So disabling all but nearby visited locations, you should obtain what you are searching for: only have on your map and compass visited locations and no quest markers at all.
I think you should take a look to these images and try the mod by yourself. Let me know if you experience issues. ;-)
Disabling quest markers does nothing a simple ini edit (or, indeed, deselecting a quest in your journal) cannot do already. That's not what I'm looking for. There's an unhelpful terminology mix-up at work here: there are markers (arrows you see on your compass and on your map pointing to the active quest) and markers (location icons), so to say. I want to get rid of the immersion breaking questgiver-imposed "map updated" thingies.
If only there was visited/not visited parameter for these places that could be translated into invisible icons for the first state...

If it's that very mod, it, having its own config GUI, should probably save its settings on restart of its executable. Would you care to post screenshots of the relevant tabs?

I took a look at the mod and found that it only offers to disable location markers regardless of their visited/unvisited status. So I cannot show a cave I already visited and hide a cave was tasked to travel to, but haven't found myself yet. Which was the feature I was looking for in the first place.
However, I'm sure I managed to disable unvisited locations only (and keep visited locations displayed on map) with this mod, since it's the only mod like that I have...

EDIT 2: I just realised to check the posts rather than the inactive forums on Even Better Quest Objectives, and the mod author states in the FAQ that all of the mods are indeed needed. Just a heads up for future modders thinking about the same thing.
I'd be interested to know what in it is happening to cause my performance problems that no amount of graphical and gameplay overhauls come close to creating, but those word's are probably wasted on me. (not learned in scripting/modding...)
Well, just something to watch out for, if you're having bad performance problems, try disabling this baby or upgrading to Even Better Quest Objectives.
Even the author of this mod recommends that you use Even Better Quest Objectives instead, as it is updated more.
Disabling quest markers does nothing a simple ini edit (or, indeed, deselecting a quest in your journal) cannot do already. That's not what I'm looking for. There's an unhelpful terminology mix-up at work here: there are markers (arrows you see on your compass and on your map pointing to the active quest) and markers (location icons), so to say. I want to get rid of the immersion breaking questgiver-imposed "map updated" thingies.
If only there was visited/not visited parameter for these places that could be translated into invisible icons for the first state...
If it's that very mod, it, having its own config GUI, should probably save its settings on restart of its executable. Would you care to post screenshots of the relevant tabs?
But I took a look to Skyrim Compass Tuner images and now I remember. So actually, you can hide or display nearby visited locations, nearby unknown locations and of course quest markers on the compass (first image). Then you can hide or display quest markers on main map and entrances/exits markers on local map (third image).
So disabling all but nearby visited locations, you should obtain what you are searching for: only have on your map and compass visited locations and no quest markers at all.
I think you should take a look to these images and try the mod by yourself. Let me know if you experience issues. ;-)
I took a look at the mod and found that it only offers to disable location markers regardless of their visited/unvisited status. So I cannot show a cave I already visited and hide a cave was tasked to travel to, but haven't found myself yet. Which was the feature I was looking for in the first place.
