I'll laugh my arse off if bethesda makes a DLC on this island and then finds out your mod in its complete version.

I see this, and, knowing the circumstances, I can't help but laugh.

You and me both... looks like Bethesda's take on it was a lot more successful.

Why not just rename the island and its locations and finish the mod? There are so many Island mods out there but this one is visually one of the nicest and I would love to see it completed.

Such a pity this isn't being developed anymore. I like Solstheim. The Skyrim DLC version. But I would of loved to see this version replicating the 3rd era from Morrowind. I can understand if you dropped this due to Dragonborn DLC, but still think you should pick it up again. You could create this as some quest mod that warps you back in time before the Imperial abandoned the island along with Raven Rock and before the erupt of the Red Mountain before most of the coast became an ashlands.

    Just a thought.

Some kind of quest that sends you back in time would be pretty badass, but I'm a fan of a lot of time travel sci-fi.

    Bethesda copied you!!!
You should sue them, after all they tried to sue another company for using the word "scrolls" in a title, and obviously they lost.

They sued notch, the creator of mojang, and skyrim dlc is usually planned and made soon after the game is made. solstheim is already technically bethesda's creation so they could sue the maker of the mod for copying their ideas

No they couldn't. Neither, though, could the modder sue Bethesda. Knights of the Nine from oblivion was originally a mod (that I played, it was awesome) before it got released as DLC. I'm not sure how the finances were dealt with, but all the content is Bethesdas. They can use it as they please, but they can't attack you for offering free content.

They can demand the content be taken down, of course.

Bethesda already created SOLSTHEIM in 2003 !!! - it was an Addon for Morrowind!

Just gotta clear a few things up.

It was Zenimax that sued Notch, not Bethesda

And, when you look at the copyright, it was so broad that Notch wanted to basically own the word Scrolls, to the point it might cause issues for Bethesda and Zenimax.

Just a FYI Bethesda owns all content including the mods made for Skyrim and all TES related games as they see fit.
So it's a privilege to be able to mod these games.

This is a real shame, the Dragonborn version of solstheim as crud but this looked to be a proper version, In essence YOU COULD and this is if you have the time/inclination and will to do so, take the dragonborn solstheim apart and transfer the best part's, the main quest and weather system over to your height map and more original and larger land mass but as it is really only we whom played the original whom are rankled by Bethesda's inferior re imagining of Solstheim (which is about a third the size of the original morrowind version with less interesting places) the newer players do not know what they missed as the older game engine would not impress them at all.

This is a shame but if you have abandoned this make it a nexus resource if you are so inclined as it is even more of a shame to let your quality work go to waste.

And to everyone, NO Bethesda could not sue as it is in there game mod term's and they provided modding tool's, they could only sue if the mod was offered for money or an attempt at copyright was placed on it, anyway there game's almost always come out broken and half the development is performed by the community, who here does not use mod's.

They could sue him if he released the file with assets from Dragonborn.

If he used assets from Dragonborn without making it a dependency, not only would the Nexus ban him but Bethesda would shut him down.
