Finally bought Hearthfires and giving up my Breezehome basement saddens me to no end. :( Have a kudo in memory of one of the best little Breezehome mods on Nexus.

Edit: Couldn't bear it after all, I'm working on a Breezehome mod that incorporates a slightly tweaked and Hearthfire-friendly Basement Redux. Sent you a PM regarding permissions.

Wow, first comment in 2 years! Just popped in to say that I'm using this mod, again, with my new playthrough of Skyrim and, again, it works perfectly. (I'm using the latest USKP, not the Legenday Patch since I don't have or want Hearthfires.) The tweaks it makes are just right, not too much and not too little.

And it works fine with Breezehome Firepit Removed.

And Lydia just loves it. She never leaves the basement. Actually, I might try that "Sandboxing on multiple levels" mod or whatever it's called, just to get her upstairs once in a while. But it's cool having her down there hammering away or leaning over the enchanting table or hanging out in the library.</p>

Awesome to hear it's still useful this long in the tooth.

I really have been meaning to update this but I figured what's done is done and people have moved on to other games by now.

Alas, Skyrim is a classic, and as such people keep going back to it. I myself still have it installed and fully modded to the teets, and have never come close to completing the main quest lines. Nor seen more than a 3rd of the content, if even that. I will keep going back to it for the next few years I imagine if not longer.

I got the anthology a while back which upgraded my Skyrim to Legendary. So I could conceivably upgrade this.

Anyways, thanks for the feedback. Glad you are still enjoying its ambiance and practicality .

Yup, Skyrim is certainly a classic. (You haven't done the main quests or fully exhausted the content? That's actually kinda awesome - lots of stuff in reserve for you! )

I went back to Skyrim after being quite disappointed in FO4 and, funnily enough, I've read comments from other gamers who have or are planning to do the same.

The only things I wouldn't mind seeing are claw and mask displays. I might even try going into the CK and adding them myself - there's a modders resource with all that kind of stuff. But it's been soooo long since I used the CK that I kinda dread refamiliarizing myself with that tool. (I actually went into the CK a couple years ago and added one more chest, just on the opposite side of the ladder from the armor workbench.) Then again, it's not a huge thing not to have the displays. And I'm loathe to clutter things up down there and take away from the cleanliness of the layout.

Anyways, yeah, this mod has withstood the test of time very nicely. A true classic itself! This mod should have WAY more than the 125 endorsements it has currently. You obviously put a lot of work and care into making this, and I really appreciate you doing so.

Just stopped back to endorse this mod. Combined with Breezehome Firepit Removed it sets up Breezehome perfectly.

This is a great alternative for those of us who have no interest in Hearthfire.

I looked at the dozens of Breezehome mods before selecting this one. Thanks for this. Nice work.

So I have to choose between this and Hearthfires? Let me think here. A single basement or 3 customizable player homes and new items...
Not really much of a choice, I'll keep Hearthfires. If you ever get around to fixing this mod, I'll check it out.

trying to figure out, does this mod conflict with hearthfire? as soon as I enter breezehome with hearthfire enabled I get a crash

Yeah I was sent a message a couple weeks ago that hearthfire came with a new navmesh for breezehome upstairs which means the door reference is now missing. It's trying to add a portal it can't link to.

Unfortunately I'm not going to be buying hearthfire, and as far as I know I can't fix it in the CK unless I have the DLC. Pretty fricken stupid if you ask me. I mod so I don't have to buy expansions. I build my own homes so why would I pay for something inferior? Anyways, sorry for the hassle for those with this mod in old saves. Blame Bethesda and not me or the countless other modders this has affected.

    Solution for old saves? Re-install Skyrim sans(without) the DLC, make a clean save with all your stuff stored in the basement on your character, then re apply the hearthfire DLC. You'll lose the basement, but hey! you've got the DLC now so why would you need my mod...>_<;

If someone with hearthfire wants to re-upload this with the fix for hearthfire users then by all means you have my permission.

    cheers,

In other news, I just re-installed skyrim recently with a crap tonne of mods installed including my basement and everything works awesomely.

I have also just discovered this issue having got all the DLCs today (and updated all the mods that needed updating). I was able to save all my stuff by going through all the active plugins and disabling anything which required HeartFires.esm - loaded up the game and collected all my worldly possessions from the basement - resave outside Breezehome - reactive all mods, excluding the Basement Redux mod and reload the save.

It's a real shame that the mod no longer works; how difficult would it be to fix in Creation Kit? My experience in creation kit is minimal, but if it's a relatively straight forward fix I would give it a go - I loved my basement.

(It might be a good idea to update the mod description so people know that Hearthfire is incompatible.)

Good idea. Added a note to the description.

      cheers,

And again sorry about the loss of your basement. I'm still using mine. Screw that damn DLC heh

Almost my favorite Breezehome basement mod, except I wish it wasn't so dark down there. At least the second room could do with a torch/lamp or two.
