    Frequently Asked Questions
Please make sure you've looked over the readme and description page first if you're having issues. If you don't see an answer to your question there or in this FAQ, also try searching through the comments, your issue may have already been addressed (click "View Forum Thread", then use the search field in the upper right corner.)

    Q. After updating, I can't find the 'Use Water' or 'Check Needs' powers. How do I refill?

    A. They were consolidated into a single +More Complex Actions+ power, so that you wouldn't have to waste time switching between them or use up valuable favorites menu or hotkey space. It's a lesser power, located in the magic menu alongside things like your racial power.

    Q. I can't refill water bottles/water flasks.

    A. This mod's water detection works by checking around the player for water-related object references. Big, flat bodies of water like the ocean or lakes don't have any references to detect, but the ripples and waterfalls on streams and rivers will be detected, so try standing near whitewater when drinking or refilling (cast the +More Complex Actions+ power to bring up the refill and drink options.) Wells can also be used for refills, as well as the fountains in Drinking Fountains of Skyrim if you've installed the compatibility patch. If you find a well that's not working, let me know and I'll fix it in the next update.

    Q. My hunger/thirst/etc. suddenly skyrocket and won't come back down when I eat.

    A. Are you using the Ningheim race? There seems to be a problem with it that I'm looking into, but I won't be able to say more until I hear back from Seren4XX about the Ningheim source files.

    Q. Can you make a compatibility patch for another mod?

    A. I try to maintain compatibility with major mods, but I'm also working on streamlining the compatibility patch creation process as much as possible to make it easy for mod users and other authors to make patches. Check back in after the upcoming update and there should be a tutorial file explaining how to make a patch.

    Q. How do I make my/a mod's foods compatible with IMCN?

    A. There's an easy way and a more involved way. The more involved way will be changing after the update, so I'm holding off on posting instructions for it, but I've posted instructions on how to do it the easy way in the "IMCN compatibility patches" forum topic. Click the Forums tab, enter that topic, and it's in a sticky post at the top. You basically just need to add a couple of keywords from IMCN to each food that you want to be compatible (IMCNisGenericFood, and one of the various IMCNgeneric... keywords.)

    Q. Why isn't spoilage working?

    A. There was an error in one of the scripts in update v0.31 that prevents the mod's lists of perishable foods from being built. It will be working after the next update.

Spoilage should be fixed in version 1.00. Remember to enable it from the config or MCM menu if you haven't done so.

    Q. The eating menu won't pop up for some foods when I try to eat them.

    A. A list has been compiled of foods that aren't working, and they'll be fixed by the next update:

Cabbage Soup, Mudcrab Legs, Potato Soup, Sadri's Sujumma, Sliced Goat cheese, Salmon Steak (Hearthfire version)

These foods should be fixed by version 1.00. If you've updated (HF, DG, DB patches as well) and are still having problems, tell me which food(s) and I'll have a look.

I've followed the uninstallation instructions, but the mod refuses to be removed to the point i legit probably have to do a fresh install(which due to the terrible internet i have, probably will take the rest of the day so that's 'great'.).
Can't even start a new game without the items being added to inventory despite that it's supposed to be disabled in the load order.

For the brief time i was actually using, the mod(in 2020. I stopped playing and working on mods for the game because of this mod causing me issues), it crashed every time i tried to drink the water it spawned in my inventory even with needs tracking enabled and i have no mods that should conflict.
    ---------------
Edit: The solution was looking me in the face but it not being mentioned in the instructions was enough for me not to even think about it, apperntly.   All i had to do was uncheck, load the game, exit and then manually delete the mod files outright.  Just having them sitting in the data file, loaded or not would load them.

This mod used to work just fine with Enderal, but I just returned to playing Enderal after several years and collecting water in empty wine bottles is no longer working. All other aspects of the mod still work fine including the Hide Waterskin, just the wine bottles aren't working anymore. Can you please check?

Did this never get updated for Special Edition? It was probably my favourite mod. From what I remember, none of the other needs mods really compared.

    Uninstall bug?

I followed the steps, but I still have some ailments that followed me. My Magicka and Stamina are still RED, 110 base and depleted to 58.

If there is any help here, can someone help me out?

Does this mod suppose to work with DLC food? Because it don't, foods like boar meat, steamed moodcrab legs are eaten for HP only.

Author, if u still support this mode - can u add function to add custom eat/drink in ur mod ingame, like in other Need's mod? Just when click on not defined food- open menu for assignment this food to ur mod... This is too many nice mod's for food & i think this will be greatest way for compatibility..

Also, it will be great if u add some widget for tracking ur needs instead of this text-only messages...

I rly like idea to track daily ration (nutritions), mental/physical rest et - this is what i actually want from skyrim and this is unavaliable in other's need's mod, but for now this is kinda unplayable cuz of reason i named...
    And sry for crappy eng.

It's been a while since I last played Skyrim/used this mod.  I went through and configured everything, made sure 'Fatal Effects' was checked.  However, I just discovered I was at -500% nutrition, -200%+ish hydration, -sleep.  My messages were 'feeling peckish'.  I'm not sure if I was experiencing negative effects, I didn't think to check...but at -500% nutrition, shouldn't I have been starving/dead?

This is by far my favorite needs mod. When set to basic it is the lightest weight needs mod out there, as far as script impact. The only thing that would make it any better would be to add the Does Damage Flag to water detection so it could detect all water like the other major needs mods, well with a water mod and needs patch, but in 2018 who isn't running a water mod with a needs patch. lol.Anyway, wonderful mod Imp and thank you very much for it.
