  To give you an idea of the level of fidelity that More Complex Needs strives for, recently I was trying to determine whether calories from the ethanol found in alcoholic beverages should be treated as a carbohydrate (i.e., something that would replenish muscle and liver glycogen stores), and if so, the point during its metabolism that those calories become available.
