This mod was useless for me. It just adds to the fake feeling of this game. I'm trying to find a mod that makes you instantly married so your spouse doesn't go off and leave you to go home, which screws up AFT Tweaks for good, and this mod just zooms you through the steps but spouse still leaves you to go home.
If you don't like this mod, don't download it. I don't make mods to suit your needs, I make mods to suit MY needs. I don't allow people to spread lies about my content, especially when the things they complain about are either outside of my control, things my mods aren't meant to change, or that the mod doesn't work because of YOUR incompetence.
Which hardly makes what I'm saying a lie. This mod does rush you through the wedding and take away any special, realistic feel. I do apologize for harshly saying this mod was useless. I'm sure there are people that would like to rush through the aspects of the game.
I was talking to the other dude who posted 10 comments over the mod to make blatantly false claims about my mod.
Have you bothered to read the description of the mod before downloading it? What kind of special, "realistic" feel are you talking about? Te need to travel to the other end of the country if you want to get married because that's apparently the only place in the entire country where you can get married? Is that what you call special and realistic? Because I don't, that's needless and overly complicated. From the gameplay perspective, it makes sense, from a realistic standpoint, as you put it, it's not.
You want to have to court people in order to marry them? Well you still have to do it.
My mod, if you had bothered to read the description which explains in great detail what this mod does, how it does it, and why it does it, makes it so you can propose a much higher number of people, and makes it so you can skip the wedding ceremony for reasons I have explained again in great details.
And if you still had bothered to read the description, you would have found out that those two aspects of the mod are separate from each other and that you can pick which one you want, as they function independently from each other. So yeah, not only is your complaint about "realism" is ridiculous to its face, but also, if you want the wedding ceremony to still take place, then you CAN by NOT installing the optional script that skips the wedding.
At the end, your entire complaint is solely based on you not reading the description of the mod, therefore not knowing what it does, and complaining that it doesn't do what you think it does, instead of what it actually is doing.
And as for that other guy, I can forgive one message written under anger, I don't when the same person is spamming ten messages filled with typos and flagrant lies and accusations that the mod doesn't work when after 3 years of it being public, and over a year after Skyrim AE being released, it is self-evidently false. If the mod doesn't work for you, the problem always comes from your end, either because you have a mod conflict, which is the most likely, either because you are so incompetent and unwilling to take the time to read a description that you have no idea what you are doing and have the balls to be surprised when you fail miserably.
My standard is: read the description, and stop complaining about features the mod doesn't claim to have. If you don't like my mod because it doesn't do what you want it to do rather than what it is designed to do, then find another mod or make your own and stop wasting my time.
i know my question may sound a little silly but i would like to know if i need to create a new save or can i play in one i already have? I downloaded the mod, and put it in the folder where my other mods are, I don't use any mod manager. in my main save in which I tested the mod, the option did not appear to any of the npcs, even those whose I already have a good relationship and have already completed the quests, I thought it was because I had already talked to Maramal about marriage and already bought the amulet of mara, so I tested it in another save that I had already played for a few hours, in this second save I didn't talk to maramal nor so, after all I wasn't even in riften and even so the option doesn't appear.
(yes I read the description, but I may have misunderstood something so I wrote this to see if anyone can help me with this)
to clarify my doubts or errors, I'll leave my modpack below in case it's a conflicting mod my modpack has the following mods:
_fists of stell one handed fists _beats of tamriel _immersive armors _immersive weapons _immersive weches _horse armors for skyrim _birds of skyrim _absorbs dragon souls spell _hearthfire multiple adoptions _additional child beds _sneak tools _khajiit child maisha SE _run for your lives _free mariage _Dominions More Potential Marriage Candidates _Marriage Dynamic Outfits - Spouse Redress and Hugging features
It is maybe a conflict with others marriage mod. Try loading the game without them and see how it goes. If it doesn't work, try to reinstall the mod. When I worked on the mod, I was testing it on already made saves, and it was working each time.
What a fantastic mod! Cuts out all the bullshit. Although I've been having an issue with marrying characters that aren't marry-able in the base game, like Eola, Amren, Balgruuf ect... Where it completes the quest just fine but it doesn't give the player the rings at the end, and the spouse doesn't ask to move in with the player, they just act as they where acting before.
Is there anything I can do to set the correct conditions to marry non-marriageable like Eola? Like a console command that would set up the NPC so that I get the ring and the character starts acting like a spouse? I've been troubleshooting Skyrim's marriage system for days now and while your mod helps IMMENSELY by streamlining the process, I keep getting the same bug over and over again... Any help would be much appreciated, thank you for your work! <3
Edit: ive even created a new game from scratch just to see if perhaps my save data was borked, tried Brother Verulus and the same thing happens, no rings, it says attend your wedding ceremony indefinitely... :(
Edit 2: Even on a completely fresh install with a completely fresh character with only this mod enabled (esp and the script), it still gives me the same exact bug with Brother Verulus, I don't know what to do anymore.
I have like zero marriage mods installed just this one and the wedding ceremony never begins. Just a never ending quest to talk to Mara--whatever his name is to attend my supposed wedding.
Edit: Then again, I was still buying the Amulet and doing it the default way... maybe that’s why.
Thanks for the simplification of the marriage system! :)
There are 2 things I found that could be improved upon, though:
First, you removed some conditions from the dialogs to start the marriage proposal and the faction restriction from the positive reply, but you didn't remove it from the negative reply. I suppose that means that you can only decline NPCs that are official marriage candidates, but have to agree to anybody that isn't. The dialog topic in question is 00074E25 RelationshipMarriageIntroDialogueCourtingAskNO.
Second, could you please add a patch for the Khajiit voice-type dialog that was added by Relationship Dialogue Overhaul? Many people seem to forget, that thanks to it our feline NPCs can be followers and marriage candidates as well. The dialog topics here are RDOMarriageCourtingStartTopic, RDOMarriageCourtingStartYes and RDOMarriageCourtingStartNo.
This sounds great, and it would be perfect if it also included the ability to re-marry should anything happen to your current spouse, like they die, or you change your mind and want a divorce.
I know of mods that do these things, such as "To have and to hold" however I'm not sure if they would be compatible with your mod because they also change things regarding the ceremony quest I believe, unless your mod can overwrite them without ghosting the aforementioned mod.
Sadly your mod and "To have and to hold" are the only mods I can see that would have offered that full sandbox package of convenience and freedom, were they both compatible, pity about that "No suggestions" rule really lol :p
Well, you could still try to use them both, I don't know what the other mod does to the marriage ceremony, but I guess it doesn't matter much in the main feature of the mod who is, if I'm not mistaken, to give you the ability to marry several times; my scripts only allow you to skip the ceremony and nothing, literally nothing else. Also, on the same vein, you can still try using only the ESP so you can propose anyone to marry you, and then, use the other mod to proceed as you want.
To be honest, I already tried to add polygamy in the mod when I made it, but it didn't work, and since I only regarded it as a side thing, and that I am personally not interested at having polygamous relationships with any of my characters, I haven't persisted.
Hello, thanks for your mod, it's exaclty what i'm looking for !
Unfortunately, i can't marry the random NPCS such as guards or much of others NPCs as you present on your pictures, and i don't know why. I used the FR mod + the script, and i tried ENG mod + script, doesn"t change anything.
you have to date bud, one of the most easy to understand description, and orderly one that I've seen yet. :) It's even in spoilers so it's not crowding the page. Good work

No reading of the description = no support of any kind.
No requests, no suggestions.

Thanks for making this. And, wow, that is a very thorough description.

Maybe can you help me ?
My mod makes you able to marry almost everyone, but you still have to build a relationship with them before asking them to marry you.
