I have a problem, when i select dwarf in the start of the game, i crash and send back to desktop, any ideas why or some kind of help? sorry for my bad english
So another "dwarf race" that's just a slightly modified version of Nords? Why does nobody just invest in making a dwarven beard mod? And I mean braids, bands, etc., not the dwemer beard mod that's already out there.
i would love to see a mod similar to this, but only able to use white hair and beards with completely black skin, and red eyes. i would love to play as a duergar (dwarf is to duergar as elf is to drow)
Hey did you guys know that "Dverger" is an Old Norse word meaning "Dwarf?" They were also called "Svartalfar," meaning "Swarthy Elves" or "Dark Elves." In Norse mythology, there isn't much distinction between the two. I think that's why ADND includes Duergar as a sort of reconciliation for the confusing mythical race that had been separately interpreted as either Dwarf or Dark Elf.
There's a lot of potential to this mod. The only changes needed to the body as far as I'm concerned would perhaps be "thickening" the legs and perhaps make the hands slightly smaller or at add it as an option at least for the female dwarves.
The only real issue I have while playing as a dwarf is the camera while viewing in third person. I tried using a mod for that. Customizable Camera. Uploaded by omega2008. But eventually first person got reset to the average human hight.
Try "Player Size Adjuster and First Person Camera Height Fix" by Imp of the Perverse. It requires SKSE and SkyUI but it's the only/best camera height adjuster I've used, and it actually works.
Haven't played yet, just installed, but so far this is the only Tolkien-lore-Dwarf mod that looks like what I want in a Tolkien-lore-Dwarf mod. Someone else used the body mesh of a "chubby" mod to make a Dwarven race that was more portly, but that didn't seem right to me. In my opinion, Dwarves are supposed to be built like small apes, mostly muscle with large upper parts but thick legs. I agree with Zombiedude on thickening of the legs and slight reducing of the hands, with those two things this would be complete in my eyes.
Just played through to Riverwood. The player size adjuster mod I mentioned doesn't do anything for the 3rd-person view, but that doesn't affect me much since I only use 3rd-person outside of combat every once in a while. It would be nice in the future to see scars made available, and to allow additional beard styles I have the Dwemer Beards mod installed but couldn't access them as a Dwarf, if you could contact the mod author Anuiel and ask them to let you use the beards as a standalone for this mod then I bet they would agree to it, and it would be really cool and immersive. I'm a lore freak, so I've been thinking about how this could be lore friendly - what if the Dwemer were not one race, but two? What if the Dwarves, the warrior caste in Dwemer society, were actually a primitive race of humans and what if the Dwemer who were actually responsible for advanced Dwemer technology were called Gnomes? I know it's a stretch, but it's not like they're alive anymore to be studied by Tamriel's scholars, and in ancient times they may have been secretive about their social structure, just as they were about their technology, their metallurgy, their engineering knowledge, and everything else. I like the idea anyway.

I can only use the default settings and I can not choose another hair mods, and I can not remove the beard
