If one puts aside the side of me that is a giggly 'teehee, marrying Ulfric, that'll p*** off Elenwen!' (I'm a high-elf who wears Thalmor clothes for screenshot reasons) 30-something year old woman, one could also view marrying ulfric as simply a political thing. I suspect the guy who thought it was weird is young. Elenwen is an evil woman, she tortured Ulfric in his earlier days and to not only see him end the civil war but marry the (in my case, high-elf) dragonborn would be a kick in the teeth. What a powerful statement to the province of Skyrim...A future king who has freed Skyrim of the Empire, and a queen who is destined to save the world from the evil desires of Alduin. There is hope, and when people feel inspired, they fight harder, which of course would annoy Elenwen since she's the one as Ambassador who has to report it and will probably be sent to her room without supper for letting it happen...And the fighting harder would also make Skyrim a much harder target for the Thalmor.
But mostly I married Ulfric for the giggle. If I can't have a hot, muscular king RL, I can damn well have one in Skyrim! You know you're thinking the same thing!
However, I will note, once I married His Handsomeness, I did get the follower options, however he does not seem to be compatible with UFO... I want to take off his Ulfric armor and give him other armor. He of course does upgrade if I give him something better than what he was wearing but in this case I want to downgrade for the sake of screenshots...Or is this something to do with his armor itself, like maybe it's not an object and therefore that's why it can't be removed with the 'you could dress better' UFO option?
I can't really get the mod to work (maybe because I am playing on a mac, however at least two other mods have worked). Ulfric does not respond at the altar.
Ahhhh I just want to marry him already. I don't understand why can't we just marry whoever we like, free love for all, am I right?
My main character is a true nord female, with galaxy blue eyes and golden blonde hair. She's pretty much a skyrim patriot, nord supremacist, and a stormcloak extremist. So this mod is pretty crucial to me, since she loves Ulfric to death.
Any idea why the gag Ulfric wears ends up back on his face after asking him to follow you? It's not just this mod, I've tried another mod which makes him a potential follower as well and the same thing happens. Everything seems to work fine as far as getting him to follow along and accept the associated commands, but as soon as we do something that requires a loading screen, I turn around and he's wearing the gag from the opening scenes in Helgen. It's very frustrating, I'd love to have him as a follower occasionally for selected quests but it just looks ridiculous when he's walking around with that cloth tied around his face.
I could've sworn I saw references to this issue somewhere before but now I can't find anything and I've searched three different forums. Thanks in advance for any helpful information.
It worked fine for me. Got the silent dialogue, he showed up, got the Steam achievement update for getting hitched. Only a couple of nitpicks: he just sort of left right after I said the I do, not even waiting for the ring, and there was no "so where we gonna live?" dialogue. I'm not sure if that's supposed to be scripted in or not. But other than that, it was really lovely getting to play out what seemed like a natural story progression.
And, yes, I am a female gamer as well. Don't be so judgmental and presumptuous, JetsuSeal.
I got it to work. I needed to play a new game but it works. I just can't dismiss him as a follower. Ever. Because I don't think he will re-follow. Further testing is required.
