You probably have stopped playing skyrim at this point but... just delete the profile manager folder and place a newly downloaded one. you could use auto create profiles to have your 'deleted' profiles back again from the profile manager as long as you dont mess the save files in documents.
It took a while too figure out how to get this application to play nice with my mods..... who refused to play nice with it.. but SUCCESS was had months ago and for the most part its awesome to have the option to sort thru saves with no hazard of deleting others. damn useful.
I Installed and then quickly uninstalled this mod after it wasn't what I expected and now I am not sure how to use my saves again?
I can see my most recent saves in "My Games/Skyrim/Saves" but when I try to play Skyrim as I normally do only a few very old saves are visible.
Please help?
EDIT: Figured it out. In case anyone else stumbles upon this problem, you must simply move and replace your saves back into "My Games/Skyrim/Saves" from the new location the profile manager moved it to.
whelp, something when wrong. I got like three consecutive error messages when I tried to auto create profiles, and instead of two characters i now have zero. I even tried syncing this to SKSE like instructed and it still doesn't work. I can't even create a *new* character through this. I'm not blaming you personally, I'm just warning anyone who might read this to back everything up beforehand. Oh well, onto that unarmed vampire khajiit I've been planning...
Hi there. All the profiles I've made go to the saves of just ONE profile? I've read the FAQ and tried auto-creating, that didn't work and then I added the "deep_scan=true" line in and auto-created again, that still didn't work.
Either troll or really really f**ing stupid, first of all backup your shiz up second here's an easy setup...
BEFORE YOU DO "ANYTHING" Back your sh*t up! (Or wait until Step 3 which covers backing files up)
1) Open Skyrim, create or use existing character, use console type save "Character X - Name"(Character 1, Character 2, Character III etc), this will save the current character in-game with a specific file name.
2) Make new folder inside the save game location called Character X - Name, drag the named save file in there then rinse and repeat step 1 & 2 with every character.
3) RAR pack all the folders and loose save game files if any(Winrar is free, use it...). With those packed into say save.rar, delete all the loose files or drop them in a folder called Loose Saves or something there is no need to keep them around though you have the saves.rar backup so you're safe. Open Profile Manager, auto import all profiles..
4) Ensure the Profile Manager is referencing the correct exe, such as SKSE_Loader, F4SE or what ever you're using as a launcher. You can do this in the Profile Manager Settings.
5) Right click each profile and create a shortcut, you can change the icon of these to what ever icon you fancy btw, for ease of use just right click, properties, change folder icon, if using SKSE_loader for example it will promt an error, ignore this then select TES5.exe or Fallout4.exe this will grap the exe icon and apply it to the shortcut(Only works with Widows 7 or later). Ensure the Profile Manager.exe is set to run as admin, same with your shortcuts and SKSE_Loader & F4SE etc to ensure it runs properly.
6) Start game using the shortcuts created, instant profit. It will now only load the appropriate save files and ignore the other character save games, auto-save, quicksave will save to the character specific folders, have yet to test mods such as Familiar Faces extensively but after ensuring the game was being run as admin I have no problem with JContainers loading.
I do not guarantee any of this will work for you but it works for me, the only downside with this is you need to exit the game and relaunch it with another shortcut to ensure it works. If it doesn't work for you just delete all the savegame folders and restore the ones in your rar file.
im glad he made a mistake it made your explanation so much more informative the second time and allowed me to better understand how to use this when i first installed it. until now i had simply held all my skyrim character saves in a folder on the desk top and dragged and dropped only one characters saves from the desktop folder to the game folder EVERY TIME I PLAYED EVER.... tedious, but its was neat and tidy
only when i started up pretty much every step of the way its been a rejiggering, reinstalling, updating process from begging to end wouldn't recognize its proper place cause java wasn't up to date, its uninstaller wouldn't work at all, its system wouldnt work for my SKSE skyrim when you choose the custom game tab option. the version that would work excluded my skse from working which is pretty much the only way i will play I LOVE SKSE. not bitching about it just getting used to it i like its potential and im trying to learn more about it so i dont screw it all up
The EXE doesn't detect Java correctly, i think. It says can't detect java through registry, but the jar file run correctly, any solution to fix this? Which registry to edit?

Recently I've been getting a Error message every time I try to open it up.
"A Fatal IO Exception occured while attempting to load the profiles.
Error Message:
java.io.SteamCorruptedException: invalid type code: 00"
I'm not sure what it means or what to do. If you know what to do, please explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old learning to read. Thanks!
