I don't know that it does. Neither existed(as far as I'm aware), when I started all of this, and I didn't like the ones I saw at the time. The point of this mod was just to share what I wanted, which was a mod that changed as little as possible while still making it more playable. I didn't want a lot forced "play balance" that I often didn't agree with. I'm not saying either of those you mentioned do this, but as I said they didn't exist when I started. If they change little or make changes someone is happy with then I can't really say there is a reason to use mine over theirs. In fact some later changes may very well mirror what they did as far as I know.

I've finally picked up Skyrim again and decided to finish my Mod. Again this base file is meant to not change much. What I do need from it now is a basis for other files I'll add that will make changes to game play. Ones that require some common elements and rather than make the same changes over and over I'll make them in one place. Also I want this to stay separate so that if you don't want those changes you don't have to use them. I had planned on adding Blood Magic(see post below) and now with Dawnguard there are Vampire Lord changes I want as well. Any of which, as far as I know, might be found elsewhere already.

When done there will be 3 TV mods for certain. A blood magic one for TV(which doesn't change existing spells, but adds new ones), a new Vampire Lord Mod, and a special blood magic one for Vampire Lord. That way there are still things for the base game vampire and the Dawnguard vampire. The Vampire Lord Mod is almost finished as as with this one is only supposed to make some minor changes at first.

I also hope to actually have a story reason for them. It will not be exactly "lore" friendly since there is not a second "strain" of vampire(so to speak), but it will hopefully make some sense in the context of other Elder Scrolls lore. It plays off the attitudes of some of the Daedra as a reason for all of this. I hope to have a few quests additional housing and areas all related.

Sorry this was rather long worded, but I hope that explains.

Forgive my English, I do not speak English very well. But I found your excellent mod because behind a more realistic view of how to be a vampire. If you were able to add these features to your mod this, your mod would be the best mod of vampires who have Skyrim.

New file. Not much has changed, but if you do try it let me know if you have any problems. This is in preparation for some other True Vampire related mods.

In the discription - "I also changed bonus ability/spell gain/loss around since you should weaken and loose them not gain them if you don't feed" would make sense in most vampire lore. but In Elder Scrolls the more you feed, the more human you become. So if you feed you can remain undetected by society, but if you don't more of the beast comes out. BTW, go to uesp and read up on the oblivion book "Immortal Blood" and it should make things a bit clearer. It's a short read so don't worry about it taking up too much of your time.

I like #4 very much, and yeah magicka drain is boring. I'd much preffer health drain. Makes good for rp to, vamps maye be powerful, but they also have to live in the shadows. That new speed boost could be used for offence, but if it takes health it kinda adds a new element to combat making it more calculated, like a vamp should be.

In case people are watching this I decided to keep an update on what I'm working on.

    1) True Vampire Race - I'm working on adding a True Vampire race so you can start as one. I was having problems with a missing body and then found the race tutorial thanks to a post. I should be able to add this soon. I just have to decide what base abilities the race should have that are different enough from the other races.

    2) Vampire Turning - As I said already I'm looking into you turning others into vampires. I've gotten kind of distracted with other things, but I may push this forward since I think it would be easier. Though I still have to decide % or straight turn.

    3) True Vampire Improved - The purpose of true vampire was simply to make feeding necessary for power as I did in the my other versions. However I'm thinking about adding a few improvements since that was well recieved in those. Perhaps only a slight increase in base regeneration rates for Health/Magika/Stamina, slightly improved base carry weight, etc. Nothing too over powered, but small things that might make a Vampire feel a little more unique compared to the base race besides spells. Also that keeps in line with common lore.

    4) New Powers - I've been working on adding a few new powers(i.e. Vampiric Speed 30 second speed boost usable every 60 seconds after the effect ends). Maybe some other temp boosts. The question for those interested. Right now I planned on them taking mana as normal spells, but would people want them to take health(Blood) instead?

And more - I do have more plans, but till I get closer on finishing these first items I don't want to promise something and not deliver as I've done in the past.

Yeah, that would totally change the gameplay of each "disease/curse". Can't wait for all of those things.

PS: How long time do you think it will take to create a mod where you actually can infect NPC's with vampirism or lycanthropy?

Not really sure. I'm balancing my time between doing all the mods I've wanted for quite a while, actually playing Skyrim(I still haven't done the main quests for doing all the side quests), and getting a little SWtOR. The bulk of the time is going to going through all the different mods I've wanted because I also learn from creating them as well. Still I hope to not take too long before getting to it.

Edit: I also have to decide where to hook it and if it is a % chance or not. If I go with % chance I'm thinking of when feeding. Otherwise I might just see if I can make it another option listed with feeding. It all depends on what I find out I can do.

That is on the list. I've wanted the ability to turn my character's housecarls and wife into vampires. The other thing to decide is do they belong just to the vampire faction or to it and a special character vampire faction.

Farther, farther, farther, down on the list is what comes after vampire? I want to add some additional things like what you find with the Werewolf quests. Some kind of secret place you can own and maybe some quests for special abilities. I have some ideas, but I want to wait to say anything till I'm further along.
