Having Mora going through your mind urg...*shudder* not the kind of experience i'd classify of "enjoyable". No wonder Auriella can't quite shake that feeling away ( Insert joke about Mora being slimy and sticky here ). Quite like the concept of things requiring a level of study and experimentation to be achieve, mostly for spellcrafting and enchanting.

The chat between Isran and Kodlak was very interesting...an ex vigilant of stendarr and the Harbringer of the Companions. In a way, Kodlak is right on a few points there. Considering the Dawnguard is primaly focusing on Vampires and Undead...they'd have a bit of interest in having an alliance with Meridia who hates the Undead with a passion....and Aye...the aid of a daedric lord is both a blessing and a curse. Though there is something I find interesting about Meridia, some claim she used to be an Aedra before but turned a Daedra. All to say that I find her origin rather interesting.

The vampires having an alliance with the Dark Brotherhood? This cannot be good..then again, was I really suprised to see it happen?

    Awesome chapter !

There are not enough showers in the world to get that sticky off

Certainly easier for Mora to project his plans by having it be something other than slimy tentacles. One of those plans gets revealed in the next chapter from here *tease*. I like to think it would take a great deal of research to get new spells and good enchantments.

Meridia is very interesting. She was once a Magna-Ge, the ones along with Magnus that fled to Aetherius before Mundus was formed. She was kicked out after consorting with "illicit spectra" and created her realm in Oblivion after. Even though there isn't any lore I can find that directly links the Staff of Magnus with Dawnbreaker, it is interesting to think that they can interact with each other under the right conditions.

Harkon is pulling out all the stops now, and Babette could have her own plans now that she knows about the Prophecy, but we will see

I take a bit longer time to read through your story,.. since there is so much going on in your story's and there are many subtle changes that you would miss easily if you rush through a story,..
I'm glad I took my time since with this story that is certainly the case.
Part I liked most was the insight in Auri's head,.. very well written.
Also the n ice twist with the situation with Harkon was very cool to read,.. I very much enjoyed the combination between images and writing,.. they are greatly balanced,..

Thanks! This one did turn into a bit of a marathon chapter. Although the multiple different story lines may become more frequent so that all the subplots get proper time. Auri does have quite a bit going on, and I did like coming up with a bit of downside to overpowering some enchantments and potions.

I had no way of getting the Brotherhood involved until this chapter and the idea kind of just happened.

Well... I must say there is no way i can wrote too much about this more than a fantastic work. I must go back to the first chapter with proper order. I'm not often here but i will try to catch all as much as i can every time when i'll be here... You, Les, Rick, Luc, BM, & few others...huh my my lot's of reading (with my lack of free time here) will be almost impossible, but as i say earlier i will try ok
Congrats for all your effort (scripts/chapters) really & awesome image collection.
P.S. sorry for my broken English

      I appreciate that a lot

I am happy that there seem to be more writers out there now, especially since many have moved on to other things. As far as time goes, I completely understand that

That was the motivation for me to place a summary under each chapter in the Archives link, because of the time it take to read the chapters. There will be more links in upcoming chapters that go back to previous ones as well to provide context in certain situations.

P.S I can read your English very well so no problems there

I thoroughly enjoyed this set, especially seeing the imbrications between the Companions and Dawngard, then Harkon with the DB, those are wonderful twists, yet, very probable events. As for Jon, I would love to see Babette's arse kicked , you have made an opening here; I never played the full story of the Brotherhood, I never was compelled to it, to the characters (except maybe Astrid)...but I will need to do it eventually, too many it is still a well made story-line.

Soul Cairn to a theater near you...soon

    Cheers Wade!

I would not expect any spoilers for the DB story here as their appearance will have nothing to do with that. We will see if Babette becomes even more despised going forward

The Soul Cairn will be interesting, trying to figure out how to make it more menacing and a bit less purple

One of your best - in the top 10 certainly. I think I liked this one because of all the many plots and sub-plots going on and how well you integrated them all. It was a very full chapter in the sense that we got a glimpse into many of the plans you have going (and yet still more you did not touch on - so many plots in these stories its great).

Enjoyed the dip into Auri's thoughts and fear of becoming dependent on external sources of power - and one reason in games I focus more on clothing/weapons I like versus power items as I hate becoming dependent in-games on items. I really prefer innate power and avoid games that require total focus on items. Skyrim and FO4 are both good that way in that they have a nice balance. Course I can also balance based on game difficulty although in FO4 I do very well in pure SM and yet not so item focused I have options and choice on outfits and weapons I like versus having to always go with the "best" choice from an AC/Damage view.

Then some more info on the companions was nice to see and the discussion with Kodlak and the option of seeking out Meridia for Islan. Wonder if he will finally do that? Kodlak is right - prince dealings are always risky. But know what? I tend to think its the same with the Aedra and gods in general. There is always a price and often the gods, of any alignment, have their own agenda. Just that the "good" ones will have one that tends to benefit the greater good even if not the individual person they are using.

Nice to see Harkon give the smack-down on his cronies and the conversation with Babbette. I so enjoyed making her killable and having Grim chop her head off in his game. Detest her and her ilk in general.

So Serana and Auri made it though to their mothers hideout, with some help from the kissing death hound I will be curious to see how you handle that whole issue with getting Auri into the SC.

Thanks! This many subplots thing is something I will continue to do. When I was proofreading it and making a few changes, it felt like a shorter story even though it was quite long with all the change of pace. On top of that, other parts of the story that get neglected can be shown more often as well.

In games, I have a hard time with things like potions and enchanted items, especially when they are only beneficial and don't come with side effects. It seems to me that things like health, mana, and stamina related things should have that possible addiction or dependency characteristic because the individuals body is responsible for how well they regenerate or how much they have.

The first time I played Dawnguard, I was surprised that there was not an option to approach Meridia as a member of the Dawnguard. It would make sense for Meridia to accept a group that is so aligned with her naturally, especially with the revenge she must want on Harkon for the plot to seal away Dawnbreaker and her influence. And at the same time, not interfering directly unless Molag Bal does so first.

There is no doubt who is in charge in Castle Volkihar, even if that means sending some of his own to their death to prove it. Needed a way to incorporate the Dark Brotherhood into this, and the little vampire is extra motivated.

I never was impressed with the game randomly giving you the secondary option of so called partial soul trap to avoid becoming a vampire as well as the small side effect you got for doing it. It's going to be done a bit differently this time
