Name: Zareni
Race: Imperial

Origin: Bound by the flames, Zareni hails from a northwestern nation on the southern continent where the God of fire is greatly worshipped and feared. Her homeland is divided in hundreds of small states, all trying to survive and be recognized by the emperor, ruling this far-stretched empire without really caring about the individual states as long as they pay their tributes. The climate is hot and arid with lots of deserts, steppes, mountain ranges and a few inland jungles.
Class: Warlord. Zareni is an ambitious woman, not at all afraid to use controversial methods to reach her goals. She's not evil, although her acts has given her a bad reputation, and she's certainly not good at heart either.
She once was a fire priestess, but being a member of a holy order didn't really fit her chaotic mind. She's very impulsive and always turns toward that rush of power.
In her homeland, she has even become both notorious and wealthy, so she's using her own principality to gain even more fame and riches. Zareni is also quite a warmonger. She's feared and hated, but also adored for her strong will to keep the blade of the Fire god high in her hand. She has a weakness for seeking legendary artifacts to aid her in her personal crusade. Zareni uses harsh force and flaming armies, as she battles to conquer her neighbors.

Likes: Playing with fire, warmth and the dreadful look of fear in her enemies eyes
Dislikes: Water priests, swamplands and people living in poverty
Favorite food: Sweet and sugary fruits such as pineapple, mango and grapes
Follower: None at the moment. She laughs at men trying to impress on her, because men don't even attract Zareni. Her only true love was a young maiden and acolyte while she still was a fire priestess. The lovely girl choose to stay at the temple though, when Zareni wanted to leave and since that day a certain black fire is burning within Zarenis heart, making her reserved towards strangers and companions...

A very willful, domineering woman who has a lust for power and riches is the complete anti-hero.
Her lack of interest in men and her love for the young maiden at the temple makes her so utterly unattainable and all the more desirable.

As you probably can tell by now I have this fondness of writing about anti-heroes and characters with a more dark heart and soul. It doesn't have to lead to something sinister though, but I do love to start there. Some may get a change of heart during their adventures, while others get rooted in the evil even more.
The thing with Zareni is that she hails from a part of my world which is very much in turmoil. Small states and realms do constant warfare or intruiging play among each other, so to say Zareni is all malice is wrong. She might certainly be seen like that in a land like Skyrim though, which makes her visit there very interesting...
I'm quite fond of her to be honest. I've always loved characters with a foot on both sides of chaos and common sense...
This is starting to turn out just as my writing here at home though. A lot of introductions, but not too many worked out stories...
