Above and beyond that Despair is also not my character. I did not want to leave her in a situation that would be a major disadvantage with Molag or show her in a negative (weak) light as that wouldn't be fair to do to someone else's character.
I could hear the excited, yet exhausted chatter as they gathered in Valerica's study. Each so happy to know the other survived the ordeal.
The surprises that Hircine has in store for the pack, he may have only spoken with Aela and Erik, but I suspect that each of them will carry a blessing from the prince in the future.
and Go Losti!....... wow a Greater Daedra.. didn't see that one coming.
A happy ending.... I am sure they will all greet each other cheerfully when the paths cross again.
yeah...... go ahead and smirk Grim.. I know that you will miss Serana....
As for Losti - so many "evil" Greater Daedra around I needed to help balance things out. Plus i have been working on plans for Losti for awhile and this was a good time to reveal them.
hmmmmmmmm "The Proposal" wonders, is it possible I think this is what it is but most likely not lol.....but sounds interesting oh , all of a sudden bet it is about the being the champion of Hircine's .
Wonderful wrap up, love those you tired all the ends up so nice and tight, even poor ( I know not so poor but still a bit sad, she did fail) Despair, sure she was very surprised that Bal did not punish her in any way but as we all know he has forever to find a way if he so changes his mind , amazing shots in that wonderful mod, love that place, so dark and evil.
Loved how you wrapped up with Serana and they boys going with her, loved her comment about something funky lol........ amazing chapter, cant wait to see this surprise Grim has waiting and I do hope him and Erik take a bit of down time. They all the whole team deserve a pat on the back, a cow and a rest to just enjoy that they made it out of that evil place and are alive in whole
The proposal could be a lot of things but whatever it is it will be a good thing as Grim has told Erik it will be worth the wait
Did you know the author of the Oblivion Shard mod just released an update the other day? I have downloaded it but have not had time to check it out - been to busy on Nexus the last few days. I love the place as it is one of the few places one can do certain story shots with the right atmosphere. Positive places have a few more options (Hircine has the Hunting Grounds mod and the Grotto not to mention the Twilight Forest and Sovngarde).
Did my best to wrap it all up neat and tidy like I like (my mix of anal and OCD traits I suspect). Oh and there will be a special surprise for Wolfgar very soon.
It was very nice , to see the different places in different colors and lightenings...
Great is the last pic too - the light on the end of a tunnel
Plus a light at the end - which is both and ending and a new beginning
Well I expected Molag to be harder on Despair than he was. No doubt he knows that nobody will be harder on her then herself.
And Losti helps Serana to get in a good word with Sam!!! I love that. I hope we will see more of him.
LOVED this my friend!!!!
I have some plans with Akrioh and Serana (as folks will see later) although for now I think friendship is the best they can hope for. Serana's undead status is a major obstacle for Akrioh while Akrioh's womanizing ways are a major obstacle for Serana as that trait is the one she hates most in men.
In regards to Despair and Molag I added a sticky as a few people were surprised at his treatment of Despair.
Glad you enjoyed the story and thanks again for the comment!
I very much liked Aela and Hircines talk. Appropriate place to take her to too; love that twilight hunting ground. His invitation to her to talk with the preface "I DO bite though..." was pure Hircine. I felt she handled herself perfectly, growling just enough but not biting the alpha. Again I'll say I've never read anything by anyone that captures the wolf pack ideology as well as you do.
What DID surprise me was Bal's low key meeting with Despair. I had foreseen he'd act pretty badly to miss Despair but all things considered I think he actually recognized his own cock up in handling things (notably how Despair would be unravelled by Grim's aura) and chastised himself more than her! But... maybe he's just not finished withher yet. What WILL happen in his bed chambers later on after all?
And now I'm keen to see Grim's surprise for Eril. Just what has the big man planned? Oh also, not sure if I've mentioned it before, but it just melts me every time he calls Erik lil bear... too cute!
Can't wait to read what you put out next; all your ideas sound great but I must say I'm especially intrigued to hear about a possible story with Arnie and Lucia. That could be sooo great!!
I made a little sticky on Molags treatment of Despair as many people were surprised that he appeared lenient
The bear is Erik's totem animal so Grim likes to call him that. It may also come into play later with Hircine if I can get my mod line-up to work safely :p
Arnie and Lucia is something I have been toying with for a very long time. I would have to make Lucia a player character (young teen) to do the shots but think it would be fun. She will also be cool as she is pure mortal and hence not "super-powered" which I know a lot of people dislike about Grim. Even Arnie is pretty basic although he is a Nightwolf (werewolf in service to Nocturnal). The two of them would make an interesting team. I also have a small friendship/romance possibly with Arnie and Eir.
I was very cool to see dominant and confident Huntsman, talking with heroes and also making some things clear, although his interrogation of Losti had menacing feeling it, but it is understandable. the look Hircine gave to Grim was amusing and Wolfgar seems to love Losti, for I never recall how he demonstrated disrespect to Huntsman. Losti is sure popular! Nice to hear that his oath to Prince Molag Bal was broken and now he is free to chose his own way... which leads him to Sanguine, who might greatly appreciate Losti powers ad talents and use him in something more interesting then torture of mortals. It was fun scene how Losti was hoping that Serana will put a good word for him, so he could have new place to stay. in a way, the life of Daedra who are not Princes is very hard, since they have no freedom, because they can't live unbound to any Prince. Well, hopefully Losti will like it to be at Sam's abode.
Serana was fun... she still doesn't fully trust men but still was willing to go with them in soil Cairn to fetch her mother, and her comment about them not doing anything funky made me smile. It is so in her style! It is interesting how she felt even relieved that Akrioh tugged along with her... saying he want to get rid of his debt to her, but there is something else too, for it seems he likes Serana, not like a attractive female, but he respects her as capable teammate.
and Aela... it was very touching to see that her dream if finally getting some attention from Hircine came true, although she had to endure terrible ordeal to reach that dream. I loved how you showed her emotions, she seemed both confused and overwhelmed... yet Huntsman was tender to her like old wolf will be to cub and it soothed some of her pain and emotional stress. the description of his realm and his scent were masterful and beautiful too! I loved that bit of lore about Huntsman and he perfectly explained his attitude to Aela and hiding her true heritage, for she could become too arrogant in notion she is above others werewolves due to her blood tie with Hircine. Still I guess Aela will love to have more stress healing and comfort!
And on the other hand, the other side of Oblivion Despair faced her displeased master. however he has nothing to blame her for really for it was him who pulled her out of fight, it was not that Despair even think to drop it. Of course Molag is sadist and he could punish her for amusement sake only but she is his top enforcer, so I guess it won't be productive... Despair feels herself horrible already, for in perfectionist style of mind any failure is unacceptable. I wonder what he feels for Despair... I guess him keeping her uncorrupted was a closest case of 'care' he could display, like maser swordsman cares for his favorite sword to be clean and polished. Interesting that Molag Bal does have some sense of Daedric Prince honor and at least for now will leave Grim and his friends be in peace...
Grim and Erik interaction was very heartwarming and I will look forward to surprise he has in store for Little Bear! Also Erik might have very interesting destiny if he decides to accept Hircine's offer to become his Champion...
I would look forward for continuation and thank you very much for sharing your awesome work!
Wolfgar has never disrespected Hircine but then Wolfgar, like Grim, has changed a lot since he was a puppy. He has become more and more his own wolf - coming into his own confidence and abilities. Oh he still sees Hircine as the ultimate Alpha but at the same time even in a lower wolf may question an Alpha (happens in real wolf packs). It is risky to do but Wolfgar had sensed what Losti had gone through with Despair (see my latest story) and so he was extra sensitive about Losti being hurt. There is something special about Losti that only Wolfgar can currently sense...
I was soooo nervous about writing Aela and Hircine. In lore she is a devout follower of Hircine yet she is also very proud, loyal, fierce, and intense. I wanted to strike a balance of her being just as loyal and devout yet also questioning her Prince. Glad you understood what I was trying to say and how I said it, via Hircine.
Molag and Despair are a strange pair indeed. Both are pretty warped. Molag lost his only love and Despair doesn't even understand the concept. Yet home how there is something there just not sure what. He does look at her like a sword ... and yet a sword can be remade just as Despair can. So why doesn't he remake her? Why not risk her against Grim and simply make a new version if she is corrupted? Maybe there is some sense of ... something there.
Erik and Hircine do have a connection already so I think he might accept. On the other hand it may be a bit different than Hircine's usual champions. It also raises the question on whether Erik will decide to keep Grim's wolf form or go with his totem animal form - the werebear. Erik would make a formidable ally and enemy should he gain werebear form.
The boys have some peace and quiet now ... but I have something special planned for them as well (two things actually - first the next chapter and then a special celebration). Thanks again for your comment and support!
