Thanks for reading this, all!
Bravo!
I'm taking a break to get Aronil and others going, but I do plan to do more with these two.
About the Redguards: At first I thought Kolmar might be going a bit racist, but I quickly realized it would be out of character - I was glad to see it wasn't the case, even if it was equally dark.
Great finish, and a nice insight into Kolmar's life, too.
As I told wolfgrimdark, I've had a few of my characters shout their objections to Proventus before, though usually at an empty part of the room to avoid getting arrested. But that didn't quite seem fitting for Andil to me.
Yeah, Kolmar may be a proud Nord, but he's never been terribly prejudiced; he tends to like (or sometimes dislike) everyone pretty equally. And I figured it made sense for him and Andil to open up to each other more after all this.
Glad you enjoyed this!
"Andil felt a slight urge to resolve the dispute by Shouting in Proventus's face, but held it in check." I have been there many times myself lol. A great line as well as the one about Ondolemer (sp?) dropping a brick.
All in all great chapter and enjoy the style of sticking with the quest but adding in a little of your own ideas to make the story your own (or Andil's as the case may be).
Yah, it felt right to me, too, to semi-end this way -- especially since I may have other romantic prospects for Andil in the future. (I haven't entirely decided yet, but I've got one NPC in mind, who has yet to be shown.)
Ans yes, I've had a few of my characters Shout their objections to Proventus's doubts, though usually at an empty part of the room to avoid an assault charge.
As for the Alik'r, I figured Kolmar's bit fit, given their random encounters with Redguard women on the road.
