looks great! I like this one with the chest piece better, but you could do it as a light and heavy version, perhaps. I think that if you continued the pauldren down to the forearm (where it would meet a glove), I think that would look quite "badass", for lack of better terms.
I agree on having a light and heavy version. I also agree that you should create gauntlets that have a gauntlet on the left arm, to connect with the pauldron, and either nothing on the right or mabey a hide gauntlet.
