Nice work Nataly, it seems Serana is facing up to some demons inside her with the help of little Sophie having the foresight and matureness to unlock her. It was clever of Dannee to come up with her little idea to try to help her friends.
What does one get Sam a Deadric Prince for Chi'la, well Dannee has the Idea not sure he'll get it just yet though but you never know.

Nice work Nataly very well written as always and wonderful images portraying your characters emotions

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback! Yeas, indeed, celebrating Chil'a may have caused Serana to experience her darkest memories if it was not for Sofie with her insight and kind heart to make her share this burden and see beyond that dark past and embrace the present.
Thanks again for your warm and kind words!

Wow! Who knew that little Sophie was so skilled at reaching peoples emotions and touching their hearts? Even the cold hearted Serana's! Somehow I suspect Dannee might have foreseen it!!
I think leaving her and Sophie together was no accident!
    On to the next part!

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback! Sofie indeed has a natural gift of understanding others and she has great deal of empathy and her desire to help and kindness has softened even such cold heart that Serana has. And Dannee indeed has foreseen it, well, not exactly foreseen but she was hoping for it.

I agree with you jess, it was a wonderful chapter continuing here we just put away the decorations. I also do wonder if there is a chance to be at peace for Sam and Dannee, something always crops up to take them almost back to the point of no return. I also wonder is Dannee hoping that her toothy friend lol.. will decide she is tired of being a vampire and seek a cure maybe. What a shock that would be to her, all of sudden to be a mortal and watch her life slip away, for someone like a vampire I would think that would be worst then for the poor mortals that do it everyday.

Beautiful shots as always, and love the ones of Dannee and Sam, sometimes he is so lovely but that one part about Martin Septim makes me wonder what he truly wants from her

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback! Well, peace for Sam and Dannee is possible, if he would stop paying for once and simply tells her the truth about his feelings but he doesn't, so their dance continues. Well, as for Serana, Dannee may hope that she might throw away her immortality, but she would respect her choice in either way. Besides Seran once tried to heal herself, just before she and Dannee have traveled to Solstheim the first time... Only it didn't work like it was indeed, Molag Bal never lets his toys be free of him and besides Seran became dependent on her vampiric powers very much.

Thanks again! Yeah, Sam is at disarray with himself and what he wants, though getting Last Dragonborn to pledge herself to him would sure gain him great respect and envy among other Daedra but when he had his chance during his first meeting with Dannee when she was so drunk that could anything for him, he never made her swear of undying loyalty to him... that may also speak of the fact that his feelings are more than just getting himself shiny jewel that Dragonborn is for Daedric princes.

I love the festive imagery of this chapter dear! Christmas and New Year ends very abruptly in Australia, so it’s nice to see it continued in your stories! Poor Serana though, I can understand why she doesn’t share Sofie (or Dannee’s) feelings about that particular holiday!! At least she had a kind of counsellor in the young child (of all people!! ) who could help her to heal.

Sam and Dannee’s relationship continues to be as difficult as always. Each with doubts and worries about the other’s expectations and wants. I wonder if they can ever truly be at peace in their relationship?

    Off to Part II

Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback! Yes, indeed, poor Serana, once to get such kind of "holiday" when she was offered to Molag Bal, who has strange way to celebrate Chil'a by tormenting poor women every year who are offered to him. Of course this day left dreadful impression on Serana but luckily she managed to get over her own issues of being so closed of and telling Sofie about her burden.

Yeah, Sam kinda has it in him to complicate things, because honestly he doesn't know what to do. If he would admit that his feelings are something more than lust and desire for fun for him it will be making himself vulnerable and he doesn't want that, so that is why they run in a circles, while Dannee afraid that admitting her own feelings in three simple words will cost her loosing him, for getting everything he wants will get Sam bored of her.

A tale in the spirit of the holidays Nataly - very touching and warm with the breaking down of a few barriers. Perhaps it was easier for Serena to let go with Sofia because the last time she was human was when she was young as well. Going back to her past with Sofia might have helped her open up with less pain.

I do hope she enjoys the holiday with Sam ... going to read chapter two and see what happens

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback! Yeah, it was meant holiday like tale, more lighthearted by mood. Yes, you are right, for Serana it is easier indeed to share her burden of past with Sofie, in a way she continues to be that little unloved girl, whose parents turned away from her and practically sold her to Molag Bal. Also Serana has one interesting line in castle Volkihar, telling Dragonborn that back at time when she was little vampire girl she liked to chase rats in dungeon, which may imply that her turning had happened much earlier than expected and that makes Molag Bal even more dark and twisted. So in a way maybe it was most easier for Serana to share her pain with Sofie.

Yeah, Dannee indeed would enjoy holidays with Sam, with him giving an indulgence to her old dream.

Sofie certainly shares that kind spirit with Dannee, something that she made Serana see in the time they were together, made her see beyond her wounded pride. I really like the way you described that emotion in Serana's eyes, the way Sofie read them so well like the words on the pages of many books, asking her why Chil'a made her feel that way. She is brave indeed to stand against Serana's angry words, those words she used to try to hide her pain, making her finally reveal what troubled her, that fateful day when her family fell to pieces, when her parents became cold as a winter wind. Was heartwarming how Sofie encouraged her, how she spoke of her finding her heart after the many centuries, showing her the acts that made her a good person, defending her against her own words, both of the hugging in the end, Serana so thankful in that moment, a beautiful scene ^^

Thank you very much fr your lovely feedback! Yes, Sofie is a brave soul and if she gets her mind on something, nothing can stop her. She is very much like Dannee in that case and maybe that what has softened Serana's heart to her n the first lace. and it is always becomes easier when you let go the burden of unspoken pain that was left in the past, which Serana had done.
