I'm quite behind on stories I have lots book marked for later, but I'm slowly catching up. Nice chapter with a bit of vamp action, and nice to see Erik coming of age, becoming confident & to find somewhere where he feels he belongs

    Nice work Wolf

Loved this dear! And don't ever apologise for the length; if people love you stories they'll only be happier to have longer ones to devour!
Eir and Skjald are so cute with Erik, especially Eir's little comments hinting that Grim 'likes' Erik in more ways than it would appear. I really enjoyed reading about Erik's 'test' and think pitting him against vampires was a great initiation into the company.
Beautiful shots that match the flashback vibe of the piece perfectly. And those arrow shots - wow!

Thank you Jess! Trying to balance how much to explain and how much to leave open. I hate having to just leave a scene and move on sometimes! But hopefully giving enough detail to help flesh out the characters identity and personalities.

Wait, apologies for length! What! The longer the better, in my opinion! I love reading through these, and when their this long you can really get into the story. Most say quality is better than quantity, but when the quality's this good the longer the better, as I've said. Brilliant work as usual, Wolf!

Lol ah many thanks! I think many people like a good story but it can be hard to keep up with all the great content here on Nexus so I do try to balance things between posts :-) Very glad you enjoyed it! They do take a lot of time but its all fun stuff - I spend days, weeks even, thinking about ideas and filling them out in my head before I then start work on outlines, props, CK/ENB work I may need, etc.

I usually sketch an outline for the entire story then list key images I want at a minimum. I then go in-game for shooting sessions. Once I have the images I then fill in the details on the story and merge with the images. Flashbacks are a lot more work but I also have more freedom. When doing current stories I can go more with the flow of whatever Grim is doing (except when I do his personal focus stories) but the past needs a lot more work and I need to make sure it fits into the time line right. On the other hand I do not risk anything for my current game so I can't use as many mod tools for current stories as I can with flashbacks - where I use an alternative save games.

Wonderfully written continuation about Erik's story with awesome shots! I like how his story is unfolding, it is easy to see his progress as the time passes and how the relationship between him and Black Wolf mercenaries are developing. Awesomely written banter between the heroes, in their conversations shines their nature, Eir - caring like a mother, though she can be fierce and stern, her kind hearted husband Skjaldwulf and Erik himself, zealous and idealistic young man who wants to be a hero and an adventurer. It is interesting how in gratitude and out of her respect and fondness for Grim she tried to settle his personal life, giving Erik not even a hint but truth in full glory about Grim's feelings and his social awkwardness which gets in a way of expressing those feelings. I always saw Erik as honest and honorable man who would never lie or cheat, so Eir shouldn't be so worried about Grim's feelings.
Love the battle scenes too, Erik has certainly stood his ground and proved that all that brutal training was not in vain and he is ready for new adventurers and tasks to fulfill!

Wow I think you pretty much nailed their core personalities. Eir was always military focused and never had kids. But she became a soldier because she cares for people and hence has that side of her. She also makes a good leader and is strong and independent. The other two are dead on. Erik is maturing though - like Grim he has some things to learn which take time and experience.

I debated how to handle some of the relationship issues but Eir hates when people play games or try to hide their feelings ... she knows how that works and almost cost her her father. She likes things out in the open. Of course Grim doesn't know any of this and hard to say what Erik will do with the information. But as you saw in a few mini-stories I posted Erik is much more comfortable asking Grim personal things or to do things while Grim is very bashful, shy, and uncertain. But then Erik promised not to say anything so I think he is just acting more confident. Still relationships can be tricky and complex even when you communicate and are honest, as I am sure Dannee, Sam, Rathe, and Fleur all know

Thank you very much Forrest and Frank - glad you liked that shot as it was one of my own favorites - his first real "loot" when he got his armor and sword.

    Really great wolf !
This story may be long but it is so well written, it was a pleasure to read.
I find it great that you have to give importance to the character of Erik, I did not remember that he was a companion in the game ^^
Erik the makings of being a member of the Black Wolf company, I am sure

Aye Erik is going to be part of Grims Squad Pack (a troop of soldiers under his command) although that won't come till later. So far he has recruited Kurdan, Wolfgar, Eir, and now Erik.
