great work Nataly
It was very sad to see Dannee so morose about saving Sofie during their travels. She really gets so down about things and doubts herself so much! Glad Aurora was there to shake her up (where was Sam??).
Love Dannee’s interactions with the orcs. Seems she knows they’re hot-headed (and sometimes full of hot-wind too) as she doesn’t back down in the face or their grumpiness! And I’m glad Aurora was by her side during this mission, the elf’s optimism and calmness seem to be just the tonic Dannee needed.
Even though I knew what was coming, it was SO satisfying watching Dannee do away with that traitor Yamarz. Very satisfying! And I enjoyed Dannee’s convincing of Malacath to help her – she is so eloquent in her words, so humble in pleading her case.
Serana’s story was so sad – I mean, we knew she had a rough childhood, but you went into such tragic detail it’s hard not to feel sympathy and understanding for why she’s as hard as she is now. Poor thing. As I’ve said before, I have such a soft spot for your Serana.
Wonderful story dear. Wonderful.
Poor Dannee suffered quite a harsh trial, especially when she thought that Sofie's hurt might be tied with her so tied with her usual issues it caused her quite pessimistic mood. Aurora was indeed her tonic, easing her uneasiness, being sweet hearted ad optimistic girl.
Thank you very much! Orcs are interesting people, almost as hot headed as Nords if not more, but Dannee knows their way of thinking and when she is set on something, nothing could stop her, even their grumpiness and manners.
Yeah, Yamarz was a traitor and a coward, it is hard to feel pity for such unworthy individual and Dannee used all her speechcraft skill on Malacath to make him help her, which luckily worked.
Thanks again for your kind words! Serana's childhood was something I've always wanted to explore, she has so many issues so I've thought there must be a source of them, so that is how this little flashback came into the story.
The Cowardly Yamarz (One of my favorite quests) He would have fared better just facing the giant himself!
And Dannee was able to get the curse lifted! Those Daedric princes are so unpredictable and yet can show respect when least expected!
And then we get an insight into Serana. Amazing. At least now I better understand her coldness to others. Yet she seems to be warming in her own way.
What a ride Nataly!
Great work!
Daedric Princes are unpredictable indeed, yet this time luck was on Dannee's side.
Thanks again! I've always wanted to do a little flashback in Serana's story, especially her early days as a vampire and her troubled life, lad that you've liked it. She is indeed warming up, becoming more human and more herself every day.
Serana seems to truly care about Sofie now, its does seem that the child being so strong has broken though the toughness that Serana keeps around her emotions and in no small way gave some peace to Serane, peace she has not had since she was 18 and was given to Bal. I did so enjoy that part, other then hearing about how cruel her evil bastard father was, and to be honest her mother was not much better, what parents could offer their child knowing what Bal does to bring woman to him and live with themselves forever as vampire have that chance. What a gift Sofie gave her by just being herself the gift of staring to overcome her past and her own nature.
Another amazing chapter, such lovely shots, so filled with danger, fear, love and passion for a child, the wonder of knowing the past can change and that truly not every thing is ever as it seems and that change can come if we apply ourselves to doing what is needed out of love.. that is the true lesson.. in the end if be love of your soul mate, love of a friend, or love a child, putting that love of another before yourself is what makes a true hero
Serana indeed now cares for Sofie, she kinda accepted her as part of Dannee's life and even her own. This acceptance played in her also accepting herself, because for Serana it is hard to actually loose her guard and allow someone to see her softer side, which despite everything she had been through remained.
Thank you very much again for your kind and encouraging words! indeed i also think that hero, true hero places love, friendship and care for others above his or her self interests.
frank213, thank you!
And you are right about Serana, she cares about Sofie in her own odd way, Serana's childhood was taken away from her and by her own parents no less and this fate she doesn't wish to anyone, thus her care towards Sofie, who reminds her of Dannee too much to show irritation.
I have done this quest (not with Grim though) and always enjoyed it and I always knew Malacath was honorable for a Daedra - but then he has a very unusual history. Your take on it is excellent. I enjoyed her passionate plea to Malacath afterwards, trying to find a way to convince him by creating a sympathetic bond.
Also liked all the detail you gave on Serena's past and how she was shaped by her family and the dealings with Molag Bal.
A good ending though that I enjoyed with the curse lifted and Sofia and Serena getting along. Lots of lore, excitement, and backstory. Well done!
Yeah, I also think Malacath is quite honorable, especially for a Daedra. that story about him and his son in books "Accords of Madness) was very sad and heart wrenching, though only this story gave Dannee hope that he might actually listen and help her with Sofie.
Thank you very much! Serana's past is the thing I've always wanted to touch, i think all her social failings and sometimes strange behavior is tied with the time she spend with her quite crazy family and vicious Molag Bal, who also I think played a big role in shaping her who she is.
Again thank you very much for your kind words! i am very glad that you've liked this story.
