About this image

Yes, you read right, I did not mis-spell or mistake anything.
Things I hate in Skyrim is the heavy D&D/Lord of the Rings/Underworld movie influence. Cities have no original atmosphere and look like prehistoric primitive settlements of, say, 2000BC;
Dwemeri cities and artifacts look like stolen from D&D and LotR, just remixed with original Morrowind style to look authentic; Dawnguard is a silly mixture of Blade/Underworld Trilogies and a D&D Ravenloft story ported to TES5, even Selena appears as Serana.
At least, here she has the original eyes from Underworld: Evolution (and the Serangelina face) instead of the stupid red-orange „TES vampire” ones and wears a decent armour (Lustmord). The only thing that actually looks good here is her :-)

Why I play it when I flame it? Just to know what I am talking about ;-)

This comment edited to state the real name from Underworld, wich I tend to "r"-ify.

Let me start this with a <big grin>.
I knew it, and I actually quite liked our little disagreement. Well, I don't see it as „bothering”. If you are a fan of something, part of being a fan is being able to rip it apart, spit at the pieces you don't like and still go on being a fan. That imho Morrowind and Arena are the only RPGs and credibly made games in the TES series are just personal, individual sentiments.

By the way, the cities are not medieval. Look at history books what medieval cities and castles look like, none of it is found in Skyrim. I have been to enough medieval cities and castles that still exist here in Europe to be able to judge that.

What astonished me: you didn't even correct the deliberate, obvious thing that *is* wrong: the Underworld character is called „Selena”. I was really surprised you did not use this fact to back up that I wouldn't know what I'm talking about.

Thanks for your comments, all in all. There is nothing like a good, heated discussion. Have a good time (and don't mind fools like me ;-))

Also to point out about the "Vampire Lord" in Underworld...Marcus was a hybrid between a lycan and a vampire since he was a direct descendant of Alexander Corvinous and ingested lycan blood at the end of the first movie. They even foreshadowed that fact on the last scene when it shows him wake up with black eyes.

The term Dwemeri also seems to have been retconned by the writers of TES as is their right and replaced with Dwemer being both plural and singular and has been since Morrowind.

You said, and I quote "Cities have no original atmosphere and look like prehistoric primitive settlements of, say, 2000BC". Also, I am not annoyed that you don't like the game, I am annoyed that you don't like the game and for some reason feel the need to bother the nexus.

Flaming a game is something entirely different than flaming a person because of its opinion.

1: Did you actually play dawnguard? That the player delivers the final strike is irrelevant, because Serana would eventually have done it herself (and in terms of gameplay it is one of the things I consider to be a bug in Skyrim). The conversation with her states that she would do it if necessary, and her intentions in the final fight are clear.
2: where did I implement „medieval”? I said nothing of castles, too. You brought that up, not me.
3: that is a matter of opinion.
4: if you love Skyrim that much that you get pissed when somebody doesn't like it (as much or in general), you ought to seriously get help from a psychatrist.

And no, this is no personal flame, but a statement of neutral alignment. you ought to accept that other persons have other views and notions. I don't mind if somebody doesn't share my opinion, but coming here, deliberately turning my statements to fit your bias and then saying „you don't know what you are talking about” is as arrogant as can be, and deserves to be flamed.

    1. Serana in Dawnguard doesn't kill her father.
    2. I said medieval castles, not castles in general.
    3. The two Seranas are not particularly similar.
    4. Don't complain about flaming when you are flaming Skyrim.

Thanya: yes, I should have done that, you're right. But I wanted the „Serana” to be visible.

lucaselinas: Dwemeri is plural and attributive, dwemer is singular. At least, according to TES lore. Second, If you say you know LotR and Underworld and you know a bit about history, you ought to exactly know what I meant when I wrote MIXTURE.

    1. Underworld's Serena killed her father and the prime vampire.
    2. The Underworld vampire lord is exactly the same as in Dawnguard.
    3. Dawnguard's Serana is almost 1:1 Underworld's Serena.
    4. Isran is Blade in disguise.
    5. Dwemeri structures look like a mixture of LotR Minas Tirith, D& cities and a minimal influence from Morrowind where they first appeared.
    5. Where did I say there are animunculi in LotR?
    6. Castles existed long before the medieval era; ancient greeks, ancient sumerians, ancient egypts, even ancient Azkhani had castles. Thousands of years before christendom.

So, instead of flaming me, please go turn on your brain before posting. If you're annoyed that I express my thoughts and sentiments WHICH ARE NOT YOURS AND WILL NEVER BE, rethink your attitude.

First, it's dwemer, not dwemeri. Second, I don't recall LotR having robots. Third, as I have seen the Underworld series, I believe that it was based around vampires and werewolves fighting each other, which doesn't happen in Dawnguard. Fourth, in 2000 BC they did not have medieval castles. I short, despite your claims, you have no idea what you are talking about.
