Love that last shot th emost. They all look great. Course that staff clearly marks her as witch far more than anything else.

A great tail and liked how you added in the idea of the children and their power. Of course the knight may not see them as human children but ones corrupted by the Daedra. Anyhow find your priestess fare more noble then said noble knight. Some nice banter between them as well.

I'm very happy with this outfit I found and I find it very suitable for Aradia. Of course the staff is fantastic and very symbolic, full of meanings that I will explain in the next chapters. Whether Aradia looks like more or lessm a witch at least has two reasons. The first is the need to move freely, no case is nicknamed "the beautiful pilgrim". The second that the true essence of a witch lives as she would only say in her interiority: a rebellious, anarchist woman, the daughter of the Mother Goddess.
From this dimension of fertility that is the essence of the pagan world, tied to the natural cycle that woman embodies perfectly in herself, is "born" the idea that she should have children as well. I find it impassive for the reader to be faced with a witch represented in her mother's dimension, which contrasts with the habitual habit of eating children of classic balck witch. These special children recall the current myth of the existence of "indigo children", special spirits designed to flourish the world in a spiritual sense and somehow to save it. The irony is that in my story these indigo children are the means through which Alduin returns to the world again, threatening to mark the end of it.
Demetra, Akatosh's priestess, is a very special character, initially an enemy of Aradia, and she ends up fascinated by her by the fact that the two women are similar as priestess, monotheists and then deeply revolutionaries.
Having so many characters, well inserted into the constraint of story and lore, it's easy and always creative to make them collide among themselves.
Thank you very much for you comment Jon.

Thanks for that appreciation. Let's say I'm glad to have embarked on this narrative road, which I find stimulating and constructive. It's nice to think that characters use their author to get life. I sincerely hope to become transparent until I know to allow them to live.
Thanks for the support, exaggerated, but clearly appreciated.

You are very good at showing both sides of the struggle of good and evil and adding humanity to each. Such is the truth of existence and you express it well.

A comment really exaggerated. I apologize for not having responded to you, but as I had already reported a bad influence and the terrible heat kept me away from the pc.
Sincerely, I do not know what to answer such a comment. But I'm a verym veryhumble person, and I'll tell you this to mention what the footballer Maradona used to say about himself: "I'm a player like so many others." Lol

I will tell all my witches and priestesses to send you loving blessings. Glad to know you are better after this bad time that hit you.

      Cheers dear.

You are spinning a very great story, very lively with the introducion of the children and their meaning, even with the way of their conception. The rules in the coven remind me to the world of the amazones. The ritual is cool ... a fantastic idea , influenced by race-creation? A very interesting and dangeous aspect ... I'm tensed in which way you will built up the story of the indigo-children. To be a mother of two of them, gives Aradia a believable new note.
I like the disput between the witch and the knight ... hope for continuation of this themes in the further way
Thank you for the reading of this well written and illustrated chapter

If you accept the studies of Bachofen, society would have seen at first a matrileal and matriarchal dominance religiously dominated by the "Mother Goddess", which would have been, in time, replaced by male dominance determined by the expanding of the war society. Females physically less fit to war would thus give way to males by generating the universal phenomenon that is patriarchy. According to these studies, the phenomenon of the amazons that had come to the Sarmati family would have been a subsequent attempt to re-force the female dominion through the transformation of the woman into warriorship.
Although there is a certain presence of gender equality in imperial culture of Tamriel, it is true that even from the religion and the emperor himself the patriarchate is quite obvious. Akatosh is not just a dragon, but a father, a masculine sun that illuminates. and of which the emperor is earthly manifestation.
Behind the struggle against witchcraft hides the repression of a phenomenon, which replicates matriarchy as the basis of the social structure. Witches are priestesses of daedra, in which the feminine has a privileged relationship where magic outside the authoritarian school control (the guild) is made available to the people and used as a means of attacking society and its patriarchal values. Repression pushes witchcraft increasingly towards black magic and this backs the persecution by confining the witches to a preference towards the cults of death.
Aradia enters the scene in aperiod oa f great crisis of impire, precisely by attempting a total reform of witchcraft, such as the cult of life, fertility, the feminine dimension of the divinity, focusing its practices on white magic (healing), and red magic (sexuality). The fusion of these two branches of magic becomes the central bone of the fertility Rite, a wild orgy, which resumes archaic pagan rituals of agricultural nature. The effects of the Rite are remarkable: crops become prodigious, breeding becomes more productive, and the children born from this practice are special children That seam a new kind of sub-race.. Coupled with the ability of Aradia to bring back the dead alive, in the campaigns of Cyrodiil, devastated by the effect fo great war, famine and taxes, people end up accepting the new religion, also thanks to the consent and protection of landowners who see their crops grow together with their profits.
Aradia is considered to be a divine being, and in fact, the peasants accept the reintroduction of matriarchy by abandoning common family structures to form their own matriarchal communities. This step will lead to conflicts with landowners, because these communities will openly reject private land ownership and the sale of crops to landowners. When these will resort to mercenaries to impose their right, the reaction will be the use of wichcraft againt them. This start an escalation that leads to the denunciation to the imperial authorities and the resulting repression in a real holy war, not far from what was happening historcall y in Europe against the Cathars.
I'm glad that this story, original in context of skyrim, but still well integrated within the scenario, in the end you like it. I've done it and I'm still doing extensive research to find interesting ideas to put in.
thanky ou my friend for your interest and support, really, really appreciated!

As I wrote a while ago, I'm very interested in themes of philosophy , society, history an religion. I would like to share my ideas with you, but my english is for such comlex discussions not good enought, For this reason, my comments are not so detailed, but I follow your explanations with much interest. If you talk about Bachofen ... I know something about his ideas, but I have not read his works. Do you know something about the ideas of Karlheinz Deschner? He wrote lot about the role of religion ... maybe its a interesting lecture for you

I love how the knightly arrogance is displayed here and how the witch shuts him down. The concept of the children having an affinity to magic is really great as well. I enjoy the consistency of the universe you're making and its so complex and interesting. Its fascinating. Amazing work as usual Briz, this set is art.

The work done in the past on the backgrounds of individual characters has ended up drawing a real alternative and very personal version of the universe of elder scrolls, although it almost completely preserves the structure. My technique and weave around the huge empty space left by the lore.
The clash between Jhared and Aradia is certainly unavoidable, though this witch, who looks like a true spiritual guide, can only charm him.
One has to consider, and in future chapters this fact will be explained, that part of his knight's order has deserted to join the coven of Aradia. Jhared chose to remain faithful to his order, whose contingent to Cyrodiil was involved in a real fratricidal confrontation. That is why, in this connectioni is involved a complex scenary mado of religious, political and social issue, not a general discussion of the categories of good and evil.
      Thank you very much Syd!
