Nice shot. Makes me long for the romantic ideal of this type of life and time. The game strips out all the stuff you don't want to consider - sore feet covered with blisters, cold wet nights sleeping, poor food a lot of the time, lack of proper hygene or health care, unlawfulness, and the general day to day drudgery.
Course priest/mage can counter a lot of things with magic or prayers in a world where magic exists ... but it is easy to only look at the idea of high adventure versus the reality.
Now; very true words indeed - while it can be quite interesting/desireable to enjoy the "freedoms" of such a time and place I think from a modern viewpoint it would be a hard uphill battle against things we do not need to worry about (most of the times) - possibly hard enough to not be completely countered by the presence of Magic and the direct influence of the divines in the ES universe
