Step 7: Go back to the "uMod" folder and double click to start the "uMod.exe" -In uMod v1.0, click on “Main” > “Start game through uMod” > “Select the game to start” -Now locate and select your “Psychonauts.exe”, click “Open”
Step 8: Once in the game main menu(Raz standing on the brain), tap "Esc" to pause the game -Then, tap “Alt + Tab” simultaneously
Step 9: In uMod v1.0, you should now have a Psychonauts tab opened -Click on the “Open texture/package” button at the bottom left -Locate your “Characters”, “Environment”, “Figments”, “Interface” and “Items” zip files -Select one of those zip files and click “Open” -Repeat this for the rest of the zip files(Make sure all the checkboxes are ticked) -Click on the “Update(reload)” button at the bottom right -Now select “Main” > “Save this template as…” (I named mine “Psychonauts HD Mod Template” inside the “Psychonauts HD Mod” folder) -Click on “Main” > “Set this template as default”
Step 10: Go back to Psychonauts by tapping “Alt + Tab” again or by simply clicking on the Psychonauts icon in the taskbar -Now, you should immediately see a much higher resolution user interface
Step 11: Enjoy! -With the template set as default, launching the game through uMod will automatically load the new high res textures in every time.
I really hope you're still checking this hehe. I'm trying to use GeDoSaTo to use this great textures but I can't seem to get it right! I placed all the .dds files straight in the GeDoSaTo\textures\psychonauts\override path, and removed their beginning so they all begin with the 0X now... And changed enabletextureoverride to true in gedosato settings. But they aren't loading Can you please help?
I tried to get this to work with GeDoSaTo awhile ago - particularly i wanted to see if there was a way to intercept the 'map' rendering to make it higher resolution, and i also tried to introduce bloom etc before the interface calls. Alas, not matter what i did, I couldn't get it to work at all - that's why i swapped to uMod - flakey can be flaky/repeatitve, but it works a lot easier out of the box.
If you manage to get it to work with GeD, let me know
