I've submitted a Pull Request to Bester's IE Mod repository for this mod as well as a walking mod. Once he accepts it and releases a new version compatible with tonight's update everyone should be happy.
As part of the work to make it compatible with IE Mod, I tweaked the mechanics of the fast scouting mode so that you still move in the crouched animation, but just at full running speed. And to keep the balance unchanged, once you sight an enemy, your scouting speed drops back down to the slow walking speed.

Bester finally saw your commit and included it into the latest IEmod . Unfortunately it'll be his last one for a while since he grew tired with the game.

My thoughts exacly Please man - please do above even if you cannot do it togglable just make a simple replacement and release it as an optional thing. You're gonna make A LOT of ppl happy.
Also - even it does not look good with weapons in hands and thus requiring manual sheathing its still gonna be great.
No IE mod compatibility? Useless. Its a good feature, but not as good as all the IEMod goodies. https://bitbucket.org/Bester/poe-modding-framework/ - IEMod development. Maybe you can contibute and make this extremely useful feature a part of IEMod?

Walking mode does just what it says on the tin...

I'd like the option to remove the transparency effect while sneaking.
I think the animation change alone should be enough of a visual cue.
However, I will have to wait for a version that is supported by IE mod (since I use it, a lot!).
