Hello everyone! I'm sorry that I haven't been keeping an eye on the mods here. I stopped playing a few months ago and may come back at some point in the future. In the mean time, if anyone wants to update the mods and post updated versions, please feel free to do so. It looks like there are a few bugs that came up in the mean time, perhaps in part due to changes in the game or required mods.
If you do post a revised version of the mods, please message me directly, so that I can make a post / sticky here, to let people know to download your new mod instead.
Excuse me. I ported your mod to thunderstore to reset breakthrough points. It occurred to me that I should’ve ask permission, because it’s your work. Do you want me to take it down? Or can I keep it up.
For everyone trying to reset breakpoints in Definitive Edition, you guys just need to enter the save, press Esc and go to settings -> keybindings, then scroll down to the Menus section. The first option will be Reset Breakthroughs. Just bind a key and then press it with no menus (inventory, dialog, etc) open and it will work.
And thanks a lot for this mod, I started playing a few days ago with my friend, we both followed a build from internet and didn't know the breakthrough points were limited by playthrough, so we spent them on skills that weren't in the build. You saved us a lot of time.
Thank you for the positive feedback! I was tempted to do something like that & tried to get it to work, but didn't have any luck. I looked at the old mod on Nexus and see that they use a method which may not be available for me to use anymore. Now that I know more about coding in Outward, I may go back & take a look. Don't expect it to come out any time soon, though.
To clarify, storing the armor appearance and overriding it like the current helmet mod does is easy. However, to save that appearance and make it persistent is more difficult (so that you can load a save and immediately have it shown -- I wasn't able to get that part to work). The advantage of the more difficult method is that you don't actually have to have the armor to change your appearance to it (you can grab the item ID from the wiki). If you'd like a vanity mod like how the hide helmet mod is done, though, I can make that pretty quickly. Just let me know!
Honestly fine with any kind of method that would let it happen. I wouldn't mind needing to actually have the armor before I can equip it into a "vanity slot" of some sort. But hey, if you"ll really work on one that would bee awesome! I'll be playing this game probably for a while so ill be patient for as long as it takes. I only have a very basic knowledge of coding so I can only imagine what kind of scripts that would take to make happen. If you can get it working, props to you!
I uploaded a version of this mod. Works like the Hide Helmet store / replace visuals. Wasn't able to get it to work the way I wanted (being persistent), but hopefully you'll still enjoy it as-is.
Very late to this, but I can't get it to work. 1-Dropped it int he right folder so the keybinds show for me to change them. 2-Same folder as the one to reset breakthrough points.
Also struggling with 4A Breakthrough. Where does the keybind actually appear? I've reset a few times and I just haven't been able to find it.. Perhaps it's a mod conflict with another? -- EDIT: Figured it out. The file needed to go into the Outward\BepInEx\plugins folder :) Then the keybind appears in the game settings!
I hope you come back and update, at least, Unified Buffer. It was always my favourite must have mod. It currently does not work with Definitive Edition. SharedModConfig is no longer maintained. Unified Buffer needs to be re-made for Configuration Manager.
for anyone using r2modmanmanPlus, the install path changes. the files still belong into your outward/bepinex/plugins folder, yet NOT into steam/steamapps/... but rather: C:/users/user/appdata/roaming/r2modmanplus-local/outward/profiles/outward/bepinex/plugins
The headgear-hiding mod seems to sometimes cause an error where a loading screen will load a second time after the first one being confirmed, and the second loading screen can't be escaped from in any way... meaning the game has to be restarted. The only way I can make it work again on subsequent playthroughs is by deleting the HideHelmetPreferences file. I have to remember to delete that file periodically if I want the game to play... but I still want the helmets to be invisible (since I'd rather not see the Jewel Bird Mask). Is there any alternative?

Have fun!
1-Dropped it int he right folder so the keybinds show for me to change them.
2-Same folder as the one to reset breakthrough points.
I click save appearance first
Change to a different chest piece
I click replace keybind.
The "look" is whatever armor i have.

2022 and the devs only added one axis for some reason
#4 and # 7 also work with DE.
