Heads up: New Nexus site design soon
Rather than throw this at you without any warning I just wanted to post up this little article to give you a heads up, to show you what I'm going to be moving the sites over to, waylay some fears, and take on as much feedback as possible.
The new site design can be seen here for TESNexus. It's using live data and you can actually use the site as a replacement for TESNexus from now until the move over as all the main functionality (viewing files, downloading files, adding files, images, etc. etc.) is working on the site.
This new design is the first step in a long line of updates coming to the network designed to make everything better. It's the first, necessary move in a long line of scheduled improvements to the network from the ground up. All the functionality that you like is still going to be here, but I don't think there's one area that isn't going to be touched in the coming months. And maybe best of all the connection errors you might be getting at peak times will be a thing of the past soon enough.
In regards to timing I'm actually going to be doing a little bit of travelling for the next few weeks, catching up with friends and handling some other affairs, but I'm aiming for an end of August switch-over to this new design on all the Nexus sites. It's not going to be an "either/or" scenario where you can choose which design you want to use, it's going to be a straight switch to the new design. The old design is going to the gutter where it belongs.
I've actually been pleasantly surprised by most of the feedback that has been offered from users posting on my blog posts in regards to the new design and I've been listening to your concerns and either made or planned to make some changes based on the feedback I've received. If you don't like something or think something can be improved then I'm all ears, but if you just don't like it, period, then there's not much I'm going to be able to do for you.
If you're interested in the design process, the reasoning behind it and my plans for the Nexus's future then I'd recommend catching up on my blog posts. I don't post often, but when I do it tends to be an essay, so I hope you like reading!

A moderator has closed this comment topic for the time beingUhh.. I think you're doing something wrong. Forums are fine. I logged out and in on a file, stayed on said file.
But hey, have fun!
EDIT by LHammonds: You can't reason with a troll...it would probably be difficult to enlighten them on the fact that the forums were not included in the Nexus redesign. The forums are mostly standard IP.Board forums. LOL
There's a saying - if it ain't broke - don't fix it!
Doubt i'll be coming back to this site. You stole me from PES, now you are sending me back!
I can ban you now for being rude, in fact I have.
I am sure you won't be coming back to this site.

I'm using Internet Explorer for my browser. I suspect its the security settings, they are currently set to defualt.
I'm fairly certain that I have the latest version of Internet Explorer as my web browser and I am experiencing the problems you've listed in your web browser test. However the website does function on my Iphone.
ETA internet explorer ?
Care to share some helpful tid-bits? What browser and version are you using? Are you using any add-ons that block JavaScript or cookies?
I use Mozilla Firefox 6.0 and have none of the problems you are experiencing. Firefox is also the Nexus-recommended browser (so says me). I initially could not get content loaded when going tab to tab such as the Files tab, images tab, etc. but I realized NoScript was blocking it so once I allowed all scripts to run, it worked fine after that. Microsoft Internet Explorer is supported too but the very latest has some issues.
Dark0ne tries to make the site work well with Firefox and Internet Explorer...anything beyond that is just icing on the cake.
I will test the following browsers and update this post with my results.

Test results / notes for Google Chrome:
Side note: Holy-moly Batman! The staff delete file option is an instant delete link that asks for no verification. Scary indeed. Please add a confirmation for deletion since it is very possible we might be thinking delete file as in an individual file...not delete mod page and all content

Test results / notes for Maxthon
NOTE: All tests were performed in its default Ultra Mode which is designed for modern sites using current web standards. The site did not function well in Retro Mode (for IE-Only sites) and was not tested since the layout and menu navigation was too hosed up to use.

Test results / notes for Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421
NOTE #1: There seems to be at least a 4 second delay no matter what page is displayed before any form controls or links can be clicked on...as if it has to process a script 1st. Clicking a link or text box too early does absolutely nothing and you have to wait until it is ready.
NOTE #2: The Files - Images - Wiki - Competitions - Forums - Chat menu bar across the top of the site did not work in IE9. Clicking on them did nothing and never displayed the dropdown menu. Add to use the links in the footer.

EDIT:
Based on the above test results, there is obviously a site issue when creating mod pages, it simply will not create a comment thread. This is not an issue with web browsers but with the site code that Dark0ne will have to fix.
It is clear that all tested browsers work with the main features of the site with the exception of the latest version of Internet Exploder 9.0. I need to run this test again on IE 8 to see how it works from just one rev back.
EDIT:
These issues have been resolved as of August 27, 2011 as noted by my re-test of these browsers here --> Click me
It should be noted that Internet Explorer 7 and below are not supported. If you are using IE and it is version 7 or lower, you either need to upgrade IE or switch to a different browser (for more reasons that just accessing this site!)
All I get to do is look at a file's description page but nothing else. In short the most important features of the site are now broken links for me and Im unsure what to do from here.
I'm not just a downloader either I have uploaded files to Fo3 and FNV nexus sites. Hopefully the kinks will be worked out soon I'm working on another mod now.
Edit: Hey is the stuff on the top new files?
Exactly what is not better?
The new design isn't even on yet, and not even finished, and you say it's not better?
Maybe you dislike the color/design, but please explain WHAT you do not like.
I don't think it helps Dark0ne the least that people just say; I don't like it, I hate it or something like that...
