I get better outdoor FPS when using this mod, but it seems to mess up how LOD objects appear (the color blobs that others have mentioned, possibly due to missing materials).
I find that using other LOD mods, such as Really AEVWD, to overwrite the LOD meshes in Poly Gone appears to fix the issue and the blobs disappear. It might even be best to delete or hide the _far.nif meshes in this mod altogether.
It's a shame, because the LOD meshes in this mod---despite the flickering color blob glitch---seems to give me +5fps over RAEVWD. So something about the mesh reduction is doing its job.
Excellent net! But exports have lost some of the information about the materials. Therefore, in the game meshes incorrectly osveschayutsya. This can be corrected by simply copying materials from the old grid.
Confirm what both SithFaced and GBRPluss have said, this mod appears to have major issues, seems to hurt FPS and creates massive colour blobs which become worsened with ENB lenz effects (for me it's like distant Ayleid wells are giant green suns).
It took me a while to figure out that this mod was the culprit. I applaud the authour's efforts but sadly I highly recommend people steer clear of this mod, based on my experience with it.
Conflicts with RAEVWD and optimized distant land max, ruins near imperial city are.. well, ruined llolol, half of the mesh is missin as well as some textures, just thought u oughtta know cheers.
I'm sorry, but from what I can see, this OMOD just made my fps worse. In fact, I have two screenies side by side here, and all it did was HALVE my fps. I don't think I installed it incorrectly, and I am sorry to say, I cannot endorse this download.
there would be a bigger difference if the author continued to work on this mod. Mesh reduction (or polygon removal) is a good way to get FPS back esp if your using reasonably sized normal maps. However if everything in this game is UV mapped, he would have to rebuild the textures ( i think..)
You will miss some detail on things if you get really close up (say on a pillar or something like that) but it depends on how picky a person is about how things look.
Id endorse but its been a long time since hes updated, i think its abandoned.
