This mod adds a new weapon and shield, each with custom meshes and textures.
The weapon is none other than the deadly falcata, a sword originating from the Egyptian khopesh and the Greek kopis. It can cleave through armor, and cut through just about anything that existed at the time of its use. Despite the fact that it looks, feels, and is designed like a sword, it is by all means an axe. Therefore, you'll find a blade and a blunt version, each exactaly alike, so you may choose one to your liking. The stats are slightly greater than Daedric; a good design with regular materials beats a so-so design with godly materials any day.
As for the scutum, it is a heavy armor shield with about the same stats as Ebony. It is quite large, and thus, might have some evil clipping. The scutum is of Iberian origin (like the falcata), but is most famous for its use in the Roman armies. It is slightly curved; it has a semi-circular cross-section. This allows it to absorb greater impact from melee blows and missiles. The little dome in the middle is also used as a blunt-force weapon, stunning the enemy while the soldier stabs his gladius in between his ribs and into the vital organs. Yuck. Anyway, it is an effective shield!
You'll find these two (three, actually with the blade and blunt falcatas), initial release weapons in the Imperial City Market District. Later on I'll have a dungeon designed and many more historical arms and armors. As for now...enjoy!!
