Thanks!1 It was getting annoying "Crime doesn't pay, we have long memories, we won't forget" of course you wont since you keep repeating it every 5 seconds! I talk a lot to guards since it took me a long time to get the hang of that mini-game. I now make it my mission to max deposition with any NPC that I'm able to talk with and that line was getting really tiring!
You're welcome. I've actually been playing quite a while (probably over 300 hours on my current save)... and for a moment, I was worried my own mod wasn't working since I hadn't really heard the line I set out to fix.
But then, this happened...
Imperial Guard 1 was like "Crime doesn't pay." Guard 2 was like, "Crime doesn't pay." Guard 3 said "Trouble?" Guard 2 said "Evening", and Guard 3 said, "Bet you think you're somethin' huh? You call yourself a citizen of the Empire? No respect for order, no respect for law. You make me sick."
I honestly wish I didn't have to use UOP as a requirement, but it's easier that way since the conditions for "crime doesn't pay" line in vanilla weren't set properly and UOP fixes the conditions. Unfortunately, UOP didn't randomize the line like the other greetings are, so that's why it ends up firing every single time once your infamy is at least 50 unless this mod is installed. Which means that without this mod, you'll miss out on other crime/infamy related greetings. Anyway, I'm glad ya like it so far. Bit off topic, but I think speechcraft is a sorely underrated skill in this game.
I was thrilled the first time I heard "Bet you think you're somethin' huh? You call yourself a citizen of the Empire? No respect for order, no respect for law. You make me sick." I had no idea that the line excisted before. I had heard the "You, I know you. You got blood on your hands, keep your blade your murdering bstard or I put you down mysel" but I didn't know there was any others. I thought for awhile that it didn't work with the jailors because they seemed stuck on that line about their cells. But then I don't speak with them as often, turned out to be just bad luck with the randomizing. I love speechcraft so much that I always put it as a minor skill to avoid leveling up above my fighting capability. Only use bribes to push the guards to 90+ disposition so they pay some of my bounties for me. UOP is demanded by quite a few other mods I have but I can understand that you didn't want it to be required. From what I seen so far this mod will be a must-have on my modding list from now on.
