DESCRIPTION

Hello, and welcome to another mod that strips away the quest script adding items that would be taken off you in the imperial prison, and puts them up for sale at a reputable vendor. Bit like a police auction, when you think about it.

When my playtest guinea pig character tried the mod on which this one is based, she encountered two problems. First off, the items took a notably long time to add to her inventory. Which, it has to be said, was already full of items she was transferring from a personal cheat chest (don't look at me like that, it was the best way I could think of at the time to get some custom items into the game for playtesting) to her new quarters in my version of Kriemen's Simple Talos Plaza Home mod. She tried on several combinations of these outfits, and we decided that they were worth keeping.

On her way back home, my playtest guinea pig character killed a crab. All this playtesting makes a character hungry. So she went to loot the crab for its meat - and got an inventory crash-to-desktop.

And that is why I made this mod.

CONTENTS

All of the meshes and textures from the original mod are included, as well as the following esps:

1 - SinbloodPureFantasyMageResource: New (aa) IDs are made of each item. The script quest is not used, no other change is made, and no cell or worldspace is affected. This is a modders resource.

2 - SinbloodPureFantasyMageOutfits: Weights and values are adjusted and assigned in accordance with the Couture Collectiuon Formula. Items are slightly renamed. Clothing versions of the boots and gauntlets are made. The biped model of the red armour boots is changed from white to red. Two respawning vendor chests are made, one for armour and one for clothing. This is also a modders resource.

3 - SinbloodPureFantasyMageVendors: The names of all items (except for the staff) are edited again, removing Fantasy for the sake of readability. The armour chest is added to A Fighting Chance in the Imperial City Market District. The clothes chest is added to A Warlocks Luck in Bravil. This is playable immediately.

4 - SinbloodPureFantasyMageRevisited: The clothing items are dynamically added to a number of lady mages and other NPCs throughout Cyrodiil, at least one of whom is a lootable dungeon boss. Whether or not these clothes actually get worn will depend on which other fashionable mods you might also be using. This is also playable immediately.

5 - SinbloodPureFantasyWitches: The armour and clothing items are now lootable from selected dungeon foes. Two female conjurer bosses, two necromancer bosses, and two bandit wizards are created and added to the relevant leveled lists. The conjurers wear red, the necromancers black, and the bandit wizards white. They will also be recognisable for being of non-traditional races for their types, with idiosyncratic names, and slightly tougher than normal. This is also playable immediately, but see Conflicts/Issues below before using this esp.

6 - SinbloodPureFantasyMageMarket: Lastly, the armour and clothing are available from Calindil at the Mystic Emporium and Rindir's Staffs, in the Imperial City Market District, respectively. The clothing items are also dynamically added to a number of female NPCs. The lootable dungeon foes are not included. This is also playable immediately, and is offered in case you think Ungarion already has too many items in his merchant inventory (e.g. if you're using my MCSneakyRedux and/or SwordDancerRedux mods); oh, and because Calindil probably doesn't get as many customers as he ought to.

The original ReadMe file is included for reference purposes, as is a copy of the Couture Collection Formula.

CONFLICTS/ISSUES

This mod was used alongside over 50 other mods. The vendor chests are pushed far enough down and away that they are unlikely to overlap with similar chests placed by other mods you might be using.

Known Issues: There will probably be some clipping when mixing and matching with other clothing. You might also encounter problems if using a different body replacer and/or skeleton than recommended, though ZKEC worked fine for me.

One of the sets of white gloves covers the whole hand, instead of having skin texture on the fingers. Also, in dialogue zoom the Argonian skin texture looks a little out of focus. This is, of course, a somewhat picky critique.

If using the Witches version of this mod, how often the new NPCs are encountered will depend on whether or not you are using any other mods that alter the same leveled lists. You might get a mix of opponents from two or more mods, opponents from only one mod, or even a crash to desktop. Play at own risk.

Skimpiness Factor: While this is indeed a fantasy outfit, the female huntsmans vest and iron greaves in the unmodified game are notably skimpier.

Playtest Report: My Storm Elf Knight killed and looted a sinblood bandit witch, and the clothes fit nicely.

Game Balance: As the value of these garments is notably higher than that of the robes that dungeon foes habitually wear, low level characters might find themselves rather more flush with cash than normal after a few dungeon delves. If they survive, of course. If you feel this tampers with game balance, feel free to use one of the other esps in this mod.

My laptop doesn't like screenshots, so feel free to take pics of your characters using this mod. Upload them to this mod's webpage, and I'll verify the images as soon as possible.

IN CLOSING

This mod was created using the latest version of the Construction Set, and playtested with The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition. Although Shivering Isles and Knights Of The Nine were installed at the time, they are not necessary for use of this mod. Similarly, while OBSE was installed it was not used during play. Nor was any other utility installed or used.

At first level, and after only 4 hours of play, my playtest guinea pig character had amassed over 20,000 septims from selling clothing and armour found in mod-placed containers all over the Imperial City. I suspect her biggest disappointment with the original version of this mod was with the zero-value items that could not be resold.

There is a fair probability that this mod might be merged, at some point in the foreseeable future, with similar mods I have made, e.g. Rogue Mage Scoundrel Outfits Revisited and MC Sneaky Redux. It would be quite easy to add the clothing items from this mod to the relevant leveled lists of the aforementioned Rogue Mage mod.

These mods are my way of sharing some of the fun I had with the mods they are based on. Thank you for reading, and enjoy your gaming.
