Naw...I was just joking. I'm not actually sure he's essential, now that I think about it. I seem to recall one time having gotten rid of him by....Err, I mean, my lawful-good character was being followed by Glarthir, and "oops", I just happen to have strolled too near an Oblivion gate, and "oops" a clannfear ate him.
This mod adds a short quest for obtaining the Tomb: Push Dead. The spell is self leveling based on Mysticism for Novice, Apprentice and so on. It pushes dead actors (Creatures as well as NPCs) away from you in the direction you are facing.

If you are able to indentify dead bodies in script, could you make a mod to glow dead bodies? I always lose them and can't loot
