So, did some play testing to see how this works. Not bad if you like the home life or being around others. I like to play a wanderer/loner, and got a little creative with the ini.

Would you consider outsourcing the settings for your mod into an .ini file? I really like the idea and I'll use it as soon as I can, but I'd like to change the time spans a bit.
This is perfect for roleplayers, but also for anyone looking for interesting gameplay elements. Great idea!
I want to try it but I would like to know in advance if there's any alternative way to recover from this new status. I ask this because, otherwise, having this mod would mean that we would need to live with a huge penalty until we can finally get a home somewhere. It can take a while to acquire the first home when you start the game again, especially for those of us who use mods that set very high prices to the purchasable homes and/or play without fast travel.
Something like also being able to recover from it when resting at inns or the like would be enough to deal with that, even if it is in a more limited way. Having a lower cap or recover rate by resting at inns would also make inns more useful while maintining the original aim of the mod, as well as help prevent such extremely annoying circumstances from happening to new characters.
I think I already said this, but I'll say it again: I'm a big fan of your mods. I'm looking forward to trying this out soon. Keep up the good work
Now that I think of it, it would probably be quite a headache to introduce a feature such as the one I suggested. I don't mean to ask you to spend who knows how many hours to add features that would fit my play style better, just wanted to know if that had already been considered. I will still give this a shot and see how it feels
I like this A LOT, especially with so many player homes here on the Nexus that have special decorations, like ANY of Khettiena's, or crafting, like Emma's, You spend all your time out on the road fighting and killing, now a reminder to get home and relax some.

Like excitement from battle, meeting new people, discovering new places?
Things that naturally makes people forget if only for a while their homesickness.
And is there things that increases homesickness as well?
Like battle weariness, unfriendly people, and staying put at an unfamiliar place for too long?
Too complex psychological conditions for me...but interesting!
Good idea!

or you can use the homes in DLC, like battlethorn castle.
You'll never be homeless in Oblivion so don't worry.
If you play without fasttravel, "buy more and more houses" will become great useful, and will be a target of gaming.
isn't it interesting?
I probably wouldn't use this mod very often. Most of my character's don't acquire a home until later in their game lives.
But anyway, nice concept!
So all your owned rooms, castles, caves are homes.
Next I would add "player owned beds" to have function.
