This is a massively underappreciated work of art!

I swapped some textures, to use more of the darker ones and now I have the most perfect fort interiors I ever could get. It looks almost real!
And I so love the ceiling texture! I thank you and the one you credited!

Nice work. I would like to request your permission to bundle these with my mod as a texture resource for some custom meshes and selected locally-retextured (that is, mesh copied into my mod rather than using the vanilla mesh) versions of Bethesda's tiles. You would of course be listed in the mod credits if I use your textures. Thanks for considering the request.

Best fort ruins textures yet. Like the variety of stonework.
Hopefully you'll finish off the interior & do the exterior as well. Endorsed

i like this textures! it's really huge optical improvement. the missing mipmaps seem to be no problem in interior cells. but i would not recommend this for textures in the exterior world.

Just popped in to say that this replacer is really good. You have a very good taste in colour and all the textures blend together beautifully. Endorsed!

Thanks, nice to hear that someone likes.
Some parts are ok, others less, but at least different than original.

I had the same problem as AirostheTiger. I'm going to try his solution and see if that works. Love the screenshots and I'm happy to know at least one other person had the same problem and managed to fix it. I was thinking maybe I'd have to find a different texture replacer. I'll be back to report (and possibly endorse if everything works).

Nice work, but there are a few minor things that struck me:

The floors. They're okay, but they don't fit. I'd imagine something more like flagstones than large slabs.

There are a lot of different textures everywhere - it's a rather eclectic effect, and again, it doesn't seem too realistic. Variety is nice, but I can't imagine the builders would use 47 different kinds of stone to build their dungeons.

Yep, there are few different textures, that is purposefully made choice, i wanted some variety even that some of it is little unrealistic.

BTW, added a new floor texture today.

I think you're right jaassu, about the fort interiors needing a bit more variety.

Hmm. After looking more closely at the vanilla ruins in the CS, I realized that they, too, use a lot of different textures, and the floors are big tiles, not flagstones like I thought. I installed this on my testing image to check it out, but I think I'll move it over to my play image and play with it installed for awhile and see if it grows on me.

Edit: Love the new floor textures.

I ran through Fort Ash earlier, and I really like this - I've endorsed it. I just got new speakers (Logitech 313), so my music is miles better; coupled with the textures, it was a much more immersive experience. The rubble is really well done, highly detailed; the part where the floor is torn up and just bare dirt, it felt like I was walking through a cave or a tunnel with a low roof - it felt almost oppressive. I took a couple screenshots, but I don't know how to add them.

I'm having an issue with these textures.

When I install them they look like this: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/images/143641/?

Here's what I get when they're uninstalled, for comparison; http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/Images/143642/?

I'm using Qarl's TP3 and the unofficial oblivion patch compatibility patch, installing through NMM. I select "yes to mod" when NMM asks if I want to overwrite Qarl's textures. I activate Archive Invalidation through NMM as well as use Archive Invalidation Invalidated. I have tried uninstalling Qarl's and the UOP compatibility patch entirely and then installing these textures, but the results were the same.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'd really love to be able to use these textures.

Edit: I just redownloaded the package on the off chance I had corrupted files, but the results remain the same.

Have you tried installing it manually ?
I have not tested whether the installation works with NMM.

Try to install it as mentioned in the front page:
Take a backup on your, '../Oblivion/Data/Textures/Dungeons/fortruins/' - directory before installing this.
Then uncompress the archive into to the ..../Oblivion/data/' - directory overwriting the old textures.

Other reason could be that the package has high resolution textures and that may cause some problems if you are bit tight on the videocard memory.

At your suggestion, I tried a manual installation. The results were the same.

I would imagine my video card is sufficient to run 4k textures in Oblivion, as I've run a rather large number of 4k textures in Skyrim with little issue. GeForce GT 630 2gb.

Perhaps if I get ambitious I'll downscale everything to 2k and see what happens.

Well, then problem is not amount of video ram. Is that problem common so you see it everewhere or some specific place only ?

One possibility is that you might like to try this tool:
      http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12801/?

Couple of clicks and it can resize down and compress all texture files in a directory and its subdirectories.

I've noticed it in Crowhaven during the quest Origins of the Gray Prince, and inside the Cheydinhal Dark Brotherhood sanctuary, where the screenshots were taken. Those are the only locations I've visited that use these textures since installing them.

I'll give that utility a try and see if it helps.

Thank you for all your assistance so far.

Edit: I've believe I have found the problem.

In my video settings, I was set for "medium" textures. It appears that some of your textures do not have mipmaps, so when the game tried to apply a 2k version of your 4k textures, there was no image that it could apply.

Changing my settings to "large" let's me see your textures. After running them through the optimizer, I was able to see the textures at the "medium" setting.

Hey, that is good to know, i did not know that missing mipmaps could cause that.
I do not use mipmaps because those seem to increase the memory usage for textures.
Also i have resized all the 4k textures to 2k on the latest version, there was simply no reason for them to be 4k.
