i dunno what's happening but i've found certain items that make the game CTD. so far it's been the staff of light and dwarven shortsword. i do have a bunch of mods (can provide list upon request), but they aren't mods that i would think would interact with these particular items and this particular mod. other modded items don't seem to cause any issue.
edit next day: dwarven war axe also seems to cause it. however, dwarven bow doesn't. will update as i continue to find items.
edit 2: maybe it's the auto-sorting script? or perhaps the low-value goods chest, unsure. will continue to update.
seems to happen whenever i place a specific item into the items chest. not sure exactly which specific items, but some work and some don't. some modded items seem to work as well as some vanilla game items but not all of them. however, i disabled this mod and kept the original trade and commerce and it seems to have sorted itself out.
1st, I had no issues with that whatsoever -- tho I usually put these items into main vault chest, central one. Second, under some circumstances original T&C duplicates items sometimes due to faulty scripts.
When you say "Girl's gear now has a positive impact on chance to sell. It works across all types of gear. +1 to sell per 20000 gp of gear, capped at +10." what outfit do you expect us to give her to even get that +1?
So that was my first question, now I'm going to be a little salty:
According to uesp's clothing page https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Clothing It seems like the most expensive clothing possible would be the Emperor's Robe (25 gp) + Emperor's Shoes (20 gp) + jeweled necklace/amulet (200 gp) + an expensive ring (200 gp) -- I've noticed that although the PC can equip 2 rings, NPC's seem to only be able to equip one -- & a hood (8 gp) to top it off for a whopping 453 gp total. Even in the armor section: The most expensive set is Deadric fro 13850 gp. There are unique & enchanted items of course, but if I had those, I'd rather use or sell them instead of sticking them on the shopkeep. Not to mention that the most viably expensive items either aren't available to the PC in game, such as the Mace of Doom, or are leveling quest rewards. Again why would I want to put those on my shopkeep, especially with items I'd have to cheat to myself with the console to get in the first place?
Besides, as far as enchanted items go, it seems like a Robe of Glib Tongue & a Grand Necklace of Mercantile are better as they buff Mercantile skill.
I mean I guess I could open CS & create a special item worth 200,000 gp, but really that seems dumb that I would have to do that, and if I'm going to be using CS, I'd rather change the bonus values to something actually reasonable & attainable.
So...second question: WTF dude?... 20,000 gp of gear for +1 chance to sell, up to +10 which would require 200,000 gp of gear....seriously, WTF are you smoking bro?
I was also curious about this, but as I see, the logical answer is not in sight. I smoked a bag of pipe tobacco from the planet Hukupun and came up with nothing.
Hello, did anyone try merging this update with the main Trade and Commerce .esp?
That's how: - open the CSE, open the Trade and commerce ESP as 'main file', while your update as its sub - save the ESP by accessing this menu --> File --> Tools --> Combine Loaded Plugin
Heya bud, The voice file place holders for chatting with the NPC's in this mod are too short. There's no time to read what anyone is actually saying. Just a heads up. might want to make them longer. Also, still getting the crash with the redress option.
This is normally a problem with many mods that add any dialog. To prevent this, use Elys Universal Silent Voice https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/16622
BTW - using this mod will allow you to delete any empty voice files from any mod in the future too (makes installing them much faster, for example Wrye Bash often appears to be hanging for a long time when trying to install mods that contain hundreds of silent small voice files, and thanks to Elys' plugin you may just delete them from mod archive before installing).
There is also this version of Elys replacer with longer silences. https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/4591 If you finish reading before the silent voice is done you can just left click to go to the next dialogue. Also if you find it strange to watch the NPC's flapping their mouths like goldfish during the silent dialogues ...
... you can just delete the Elys_USV.lip file from the plugins folder. Doing so won't break anything, the NPC's will just keep their mouths closed during silent dialogues.
I've been using this mod for about 2 weeks now with no problems, but I just went to redress the shopkeeper for the first time and experienced a ctd. =( Is there another method of changing her clothes besides talking to her? I noticed there's an employee chest on the second floor, is there any chance she'll wear something if I put it in there?
Okay, I got it to work, but it was just a thing I messed with to see what would happen, so no clue if it'll work for anyone else with the same issue. I used the console command 'setrefessential 0' to remove her essential status, killed her, resurrected her and reset her essential status using 'setrefessential 1' and the ctd never happened again when attempting to change her clothes. So far, nothing in the shop seems to have broken from having killed and resurrected her for a minute, I can still sell stuff, she can still train her mercantile, etc.
Can confirm, this fixes the redress option.I set her essential to 0 with" SetEssential 1c006ac5 0 " Kill her, then use resurrect, then " SetEssential 1c006ac5 1 " You can then access her dress feature. Thanks Miyet. Kudos to you. (Update) upon leaving and returning to the shop after adventuring for a while, I experienced CTD again when trying to redress. :/... One last thing... I haven't hit the end of the week yet.. Does the workers pay go in the expense box, or do I just leave it in the earnings? There seems to be no reference to this. unless I missed it as the messages speeded by with no time to read... :(
I also kept getting a CTD when I tried to redress her... so I said F*k that, & opened her up in CSE & changed her [default] clothes that way. Then next time I hit the redress option she didn't crash. As a test I replaced the esps in data with unaltered copies & reloaded an older save, she didn't crash that time either! So I think there was something funky in the load order that got straightened out when I resorted it after modding the esp, or maybe the game was being finicky the first time. *shrugs*
Sorry for maybe noob question. Trying this mod first time. I buy a shop, furniture, but for some reason I cant hire any employees. Stand in front of work desk (on first floor in office of course), trying to active "Hire Employee" button, but nothing, no windows open, nothing, screen is like I didnt hit anything... No other mods activated, just steam fully steamed (updated) Oblivion. This was supposed to be my first mod in Oblivion. Is there any level requirement to be able to activate button for hiring employeed for example? Just started new game after very long time and still lvl 1 char.
You need OBSe for it to work. If you have OBSE installed, make sure your steam overlay is active, otherwise OBSE won't function. Also, make sure steam has elevated status (Run as admin) Otherwise the steam overlay is generally impossible to get to work with oblivion at times. It can be a real pain in the rear...
Thanks, this is a great mod that's worth keeping alive and updated with more features.
It lets me get rich really fast in the endgame (when everyone starts dropping daedric equipment) but at the same time it feels like such a waste to leave loot in the dungeons or sell it for next to nothing to the regular merchants. I use Bag of Holding together with this mod for maximum shamelessness.
Just one tongue-in-cheek complaint: you were already kind of an a**hole to open a general store right next to Seed-Neeus, but in this update you're even using her to train your seller. Poor Seed-Neeus is forced to dig her own grave.
Me and Seed-Neeus have been bros since day 1 so it's a bit sad.

2. Clothing can be enchanted thus increasing its price. Or added by mods. Or both.
/ponder
Use mods that differentiates prices, dress her up in said epic gear. Or don't use it at all and make her nude. Whatever.
